LSU got better where they needed to throughout that game
Except for the fact that they got a field goal/extra point blocked for the 2nd time to lose the game. Making the exact same mistake that they made multiple times earlier in the game.

Kelly schemed at ND according to the type of players he could recruit given the academic parameters. The fact you see Daniels rather than Nuss tells you he knew offensive line was going to need help and schemed accordingly

You do know ND put some athletic WRs in the NFL, right?
Chase Claypool and Will Fuller are legit freaks. Kelly had WR talent at ND, but still ran an uncreative, borderline dino offense.
It's a myth that Kelly could never get good offensive talent at ND. They had really good OL, TEs, and good-great RBs/WRs (depending on the year). Kelly failed at recruiting and/or developing QBs and a lot of that was the shitty system he started using.
Kelly can still do big things here but he has to learn (like Saban learned) to ditch the dino offense and get modern with creativity and modern concepts. You have to run a very multiple offense with intelligent and creative scheming.

I would be thrilled with 1 or 2...CNS is still coaching at bama and UGA is pretty stout. Hard to think one team could win 4-6 in 10 years

I think Nuss's inability to properly read defenses and Daniels' clear superiority there, as well as his comfort playing QB for a major program, are the reasons we went with JD. That Nuss narrative/mythology you just posted should have died Saturday night.

It is highly unlikely that any one coach will win 4-6 championships over the next ten years.

Saban would not have been as successful at L S U as he has been at Alabama because L S U has never had and still doesn't have the well organized and sophisticated system for buying players that Alabama has had since the Bear Bryant days.

There is absolutely no evidence thus far that Daniels can read a defense.
