Pretty much. I'd respect him more if he just came out & said that he didn't like Jameis.

I think we’ll value Kwon more than we probably should. He brings an intangible energy to the defense. I know I know, how do you quantify that? Idk, but I notice it.

Jameis is gone. He is going to watch top 5 money for bottom half play.

No way I’m giving Armstead a big contract. We should’ve traded him last year. We could’ve gotten something nice for his soft arse.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see Trequan come back. He won’t garner much interest and could see him coming back for a deal with the Saints.

Armstead is going to go to somewhere like Tampa and play 17 games a year until Tom Brady is 50

Same reason I put him on the must sign list. I think/hope his price will be reasonable.

Marcus Williams is by far the best and most important player on that list. He makes the defense go.

So his name doesn’t get called a lot; I know that’s great for a corner but is it the same for a safety? He doesn’t get a lot of picks or big hits.

Ironically his biggest pick was in the Minny game.

He is restricted.

Harris/harty is going to cost more money than people realize.

I'd give him the money a year early and not have him play out the 1st round tender.

Kwon isn't a must keep to me.

If he comes back for a few mil then fine but money is going to be tight and you drafted his replacement in the 2nd round.

Hopefully pj comes back for 2.5 mil again but he has earned a raise. Might not be able to keep him either.

Of the list, these are the players we need to prioritize bringing back:

WR Deonte Harty
DT Shy Tuttle
DE Carl Granderson
LB Kwon Alexander
CB/S PJ Williams
S Marcus Williams

I believe that Terron Armstead will be allowed to walk due to injury history and the Saints signing Marcus Williams.

I also think Jameis Winston will be eventually brought back but Saints will kick every tire imaginable on securing another QB.

$13 million hit if Terron leaves

I believe he’ll sign a new deal. Agree or disagree but it’s cost prohibitive to just dump him and he’s still an elite player and somehow only 30 years old.

Marcus Williams

Good player, but definitely not a great player. He does not tackle, and while he does have some picks he isn't aggressive enough to make big plays in the passing game. I don't think he's worth the contract he'll likely get, for somebody that essentially plays deep center field.

Rather than giving him say $10M/yr or so, I'd rather give PJ Williams $3M/yr and use the remaining $7M or so to go after a WR or OL to backfill Armstead's likely departure

He’s considered one of the top FS in the NFL and I agree about his tackling, but he’s one of the most aggressive safeties there is regarding the passing game. There isn’t another FS in the league right now that has his range.

That's why he makes the D go. He permits the 10 guys in front of him to play MUCH more aggressively.

We lose Williams and our D fundamentally changes. Williams may have the best deep-center range since prime Earl Thomas.

I don't know why people say this. There isn't a much better safety in the NFL today and Williams is too important to this defense.

Just be prepared to be butthurt because he is getting a huge contract from the Saints.

They franchise tagged him, they clearly think he's great.

I am not a MW fan, but he definitely does his job well as a FS. But he is an awful tackler.

That 13 mil hit will be there if he stays, they will just push it.

Depending on the contract this is probably the year to let him walk.

I'm a big james hurst fan. Called him the signing of the off season when he inked his 3 year deal.

He only makes 3 mil a year but i think it probably went up to 5 with playing incentives.

I do believe the saints would still grab a tackle within the first 2 rounds and sign another decent player
