Need some ideas for a Friday-Sunday anniversary trip out of New Orleans. Can be flying or driving. Trip would be one of the last two weekends in January/First of February.
Been extremely busy and drawing a blank on anything so help would be appreciated.

One of my defaults for quick getaways is always Chattanooga. Tons of short term rentals available, very walkable city, tons to do, good food, not too far.

So one full day? Are you trying to relax bc y’all been busy or a night out on the town or outdoor activities?
They have some really good deals on resort type places where y’all would just hang out for a weekend.
I wouldn’t suggest driving as too much time eaten up on the road. And with so many issues with flights, I’d definitely look at direct. So start by looking at the airline of your choice and direct flights offered during your preferred departure time.

So fly out on Friday and back on Sunday?
And what type of stuff do y’all like to do? Beach, city, hike, food, shows, museums, breweries/wineries, clubs, etc.?
________
How would y’all feel about Vegas? Good food, plenty to do and see and pretty easy flights.

We like it all and we've done almost all of it. Haven't done Vegas but I feel like it is such a short trip for a friday-sunday. If I can book something direct I may look into this.

Why Vegas? Are either/both of you into clubs and or gambling? If it's just for a nice dinner and a show I think you can do better.
If you want to fly I'd counter suggest NYC. Take her shopping and lunch in Soho, dinner at Tavern on the Green, catch a broadway show. Sunday morning carriage ride in central park.

Short, direct flights are your friend for this quick of a trip. Nashville could be a good option.
Charleston would be great if it weren’t such a pain in the arse to get to.

Look at Austin/Texas Hill Country. I know American has a direct and I'm sure Southwest does as well.

I may do this and just try to find a nice VRBO with a pool or something similar.
Vegas would solely be to see Shania.

Get a nice hotel in Houston. Reserve a great dinner. I know Houston gets a ton of hate here but there plenty of things to do for a weekend. And it’s such an easy flight with many options

I mentioned Vegas because it has a little something for almost everyone and lots of direct/cheap flights. Flight time may be a bit long for that short a weekend though.
I’d say look at what you can get a direct flight to/from MSY. Nashville, Austin, Chicago, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, Cancun, Indy, D.C.

Nashville.
Easy, direct flights, plenty of things to do even if you want to avoid the broadway scene.

For just a weekend with that little bit of time, I would just drive over to Fairhope and stay at the Grand Marriott or a BnN.

We did Vegas and we’re not big gamblers or drinkers. You need AT LEAST a week there. There’s so much to do and so much within driving distance.

We love Fairhope. It’s beautiful and peaceful. Got an Airbnb cabin in the woods and it was one of our favorite trips. Quaint, good food, good scenery, has a downtown that feels like a Hallmark movie.
