I think Mel would be fantastic. But its not him. That buyout is laughable tho.

You probably should jam some C4 up your bung hole.

We’re not matching his current salary at MSU. Isn’t it like 9 mil or something?
Edit: $9.5 million a year, like frick we’re paying him that

Daronte Jones's defense is better than Tuckers (who is a defensive coach).

That's not a buyout. That's pocket change.

That’s an absurd contract

Think buyouts should be taken out of negotiations UNLESS there's legit reason to lose them or HC has multiple NC's.
Miles and O with buyouts is beyond ridiculous

Different programs with different players. We aren't hiring him for a DC anyway. HC need additional skills.
ETA: Mel turned UGA's defense around after his first year. You can't compare apples to oranges. MSU recruited is far different than LSU or UGA.

The pre-workout? Talk about lighting a fire under your arse.

Bro if he can't coach offense and can't coach defense then we don't need him as a HC. We had a CEO. Hire an offensive guy or Dave Aranda and let's start working towards being a top contender again. Don't want Mel Tucker.

Miles had some merit
Literally, no one in the country would hire O as their head coach. No reason for him to have such a large buyout
but whatevs--i'm broke--not my money

What a trash hire that would be

Nobody is talking about Mario Cristobal. There is your secretive hire. Would have been announced already but he got into the conf championship.

So Saban is out for you?
You can't see what Ed did and say "all CEOs wont work". thats so short sighted.

That may be the dumbest contract ever

I can tell you have never worked under an employment contract.
Buyouts for cancellation/early termination of said contract are negotiated into employment contracts to protect the employee/contractor.
You had better believe that if I have contracted my services to a single entity for a stated period of time and have cut off other avenues of earning income, I would need to protect myself from loss of income if the entity decided to terminate the contract early.
Literally, no one in the country would hire O as their head coach. No reason for him to have such a large buyout
Has absolutely no bearing on the employment contract negotiated and signed by and between LSU and O. This is just O's protection from early termination of the contract by LSU.
