The program needs a coach by the end of next week to ensure recruiting doesn’t continue to drop. Aranda would be a great hire. He has zero PR issues and his Baylor team is more impressive every eeek

This should have been the decision weeks ago. Tough to argue that Rhule is a better option than Aranda, given Dave’s familiarity with LSU

I'd be very ok with this. Risky on recruiting, but I think he could find a more than competent O coordinator.

I feel like without announcement yesterday either he doesn’t have a guy after Riley flew, or he’s giving up on this years recruiting class for the better long term hire.

Which to be honest with the new transfer rules isn’t that bad of a move. A weak year here doesn’t doom the seniority of a time 4 years from now.

Maybe it was/is. We really don't know.

I sure hope so though. Dave was my #1 for the job ever since Miles was fired, and I've never wavered.

There's really no good reason not to hire Aranda. His floor is high and his potential is incredible. A highly astute and cerebral football mind, with a sharp focus on the fundamentals and adjustments on the fly.

There probably won't ever be a "next Nick $aban", but Dave is going to be a damn strong coach at a major P5 school in the very near future. I hope that school is LSU.

He’s developed a winner on the fly . . .

The guy has had to make pretty large positional changes matching best talent to on the field openings and has demonstrated success doing so.

I’m pretty confident he would have led this current LSU roster to 9-3 or even 10-2 this year.

Agreed. Aranda > Rhule.

If the “white whale “ is off the table ( Saban, Dabo ), Aranda is the best option left out there, including Rhule and assuming Fickell is a no go.

Not really tough at all.

this may be the very reason Aranda is not at LSU. He understands the circus it has become.

Aranda isn’t exactly waiting by the phone

Pretty much the same roster as the previous year and that didn’t work out too well.
