Aranda's Personality

As long he was at LSU I don't remember him being a fired up in your face type coach. I know he's a super smart guy and he is my top choice but I do wonder how he will manage a program like LSU. The political side of it and the dealing with the parents are where I think he will struggle. We need an a-hole type coach to get this program back to winning championships.
Don't be surprised if whomever we hire struggles the first two years while rebuilding this program. We have talent but there are some gaping holes to fill.

Go watch his interview about the Velveteen Rabbit and get back to me.
He probably is smart compared to frickin Orgeron.

This is what a lot of people, including me, are ready for at LSU. No more cartoon characters. Give us a smart, level-headed, winning coach.

What?

We just beat a ranked TAMU team with cobbled together backups and a Tony Chachere's seasoned potato as a coach. We have some talent.

Would love aranda. Just because he doesn't rip his shirt off means he's not a bad coach. With the right oc, he would be dangerous. Smart as hell.

I don't give a shite about the coaches personality. If we are winning football games I'm happy. The coach could be an outspoken flat earther for all I care.

That's not what I am talking about. I don't want another EO ever again. I think we need someone that is strict on the players and don't put up with bullshite from the school or the parents. How do you think Saban would have handled all these player sitting out or their parents trying to get involved with coaching decisions?

That’s what assistant coaches are for, it’s his job to make sure every aspect of the program is lock step with his overall vision and plan. Put another way, he is the perfect man for the job.

They are going to have to go to Bama to get that guy

After watching that video I think ole Dave might have dabbled in psychedelics. I like it.

Do you think that interview makes him long dumb?
He doesn’t come off as an old school football coach, but he certainly doesn’t come off as dumb in that segment.

There was a recent interview with Meyer about how his style has changed over the years. He said that one thing he's learned and adapted to in coaching is that the days of coaching hard and yelling and jumping on guys are gone. You used to get angry with players to motivate them. Now you just get honest with them. He was talking about how there's way more focus on the right psychology today.
Saban echoes that with all the mental training he uses at Alabama. Doesn't mean coaches don't get mad and yell, but that style as the primary approach doesn't seem to be effective these days. TIFWIW

Yeah I can’t decide whether he was on a higher or lower level of consciousness

You tell me a man is educated and then tell me his favorite book is the Velveteen Rabbit. Either he isn't well read or he is simple.
It's far more believable than Trump trying to pass off "All Quiet on the Western Front", I give you that.

I did and I get the reference in the context of talking to the younger players. It's about staying the course, paying your dues, learning, accepting bad times while transcending into a real college level football player.
I thought it was great

You had that in O, that obviously didn’t work out in the long run.
