and leaving baton rouge around 6, where would your stopping point for Friday night be? We're staying in Lake City the night of the game.

Drive the whole way and spend the money you saved, from not getting a hotel room, on booze.

Lake City is only a little over an hour away from gainesville, I would not even stop if I were you.

get thru pensacola then it's just how far you want to go, crestview or marianna, good places to stay and fair food,

its four hours, give or take, from BR to p'cola.
talahassee is another 2.5 to 3 past p'cola, and it's 2 hours from talahassee to gainesville -
so leaving BR at 6 you'd get into talahassee around 2 AM local time.
two places you may want to look at are crestview (just past pcola) and marianna (about 60 miles from talahassee)

not at all don't take the mid bay bridge, take the exit to Navarre, then about 20 minutes in once you hit 98.
