Maybe we’re just not the job we believe ourselves to be….

Maybe we’re not the destination that we dream ourselves to be. We couldn’t land Jimbo, we couldn’t land Herman, looking like we’re going to miss on every major target in this search (Riley, Tucked, Franklin).
We talk on this board and amongst ourselves about names like Mike Tomlin, Lincoln Riley and Dabo Swinney but the truth is that we’re going to make a decision between Mark Stoops, Billy Napier, Dave Aranda or Bill OBrien….
We thought Woody was the prodigal son that would come home and harpoon the whale we’ve all been waiting on…. Appears that he might just be a dreamer as well, learning that not every problem can be solved by throwing money at it.
I’ll support the new coach but this search has devastated any optimism I had about LSU being an unrelenting top 5, destination job. You are what you’re record says you are. Maybe we’re a Les Miles, Ed Orgeron, Bill OBrien school…

Leaks ruin hires. We didn’t leak, but OK leaked it everywhere. The press causes panic and beats the drum.

Can't believe how sad and pathetic this fanbase is. Yall some bitches

Bullshite. LSU with the money, resources, recruiting grounds, and no in-state rival to compete with in recruiting will always be a top 10 job.

Outside of women’s basketball; has LSU ever really made a “splash” hire?

Riley isn't a good coach
Not sure why anyone would be upset not getting him and hopefully he was never offered the job in the first place

quote:Calm down frickstick. Even with our flaws we’ve won 3 national titles with 3 separate head coaches since you’ve won one.

If we hire any of those guys over Kiffin Scott is a pussy and disgrace to our alma mater

Just because he couldn't pull riley from his forever job doesn't mean lsu isn't a top 5-8 job.
Who else is available?
You act like all these good coaches are available.
I told everyone at the beginning of this that it was a bad cycle to need a coach.

There is no way that Woodward was given the green light to pay top dollar for a coach and he end up with any of those. I have no clue who it is or why we are still waiting for the curtain to drop unless it is a coach still in the CFP hunt , but it’s none of those coaches you listed

They have a world for it. It's called "Texas A&M Syndrome."

Hires like Riley don’t happen. No program could have done that if we couldn’t have.

People also forget that most coaches have a family, possibly with kids, that needs to be happy living in their new town. They have lives outside of football.
Baton Rouge has become a very undesirable place to live. Money is great but it can’t do much to cover up the fact that you’vo gotta live in Baton Rouge.

It's a high pressure cooker you get maybe 3/4 yrs to at least be in playoffs or title contention.
BR also sucks even if you have $20 mill
