From a good source: Fickell turned down USC. Not sure where things go. Not a lot of big fish names.

From a USC friend of mine.

If they were after Fickell, perhaps they know Aranda is already committed elsewhere...

No one wants to go to USC under the current administration there.

They loathe football.

The political environment alone makes USC less appealing. Just my opinion but if I was a multi millionaire whose salary and job security depended on the youth of Southern California....just typing that makes me cringe.

Probably one of the least surprising reports. It’s been said since day 1 that the man is most comfortable in that region. He’s got fricking Cincinnati as a top 10 school in the country. He’ll have his pick when he’s ready

Word out her is Aranda is their choice as long as LSU does not offer. His brother coaches HS basketball out here and his entire family live about an hour east of LA (Redlands CA).

USC = Cali high tax rate, people who make money are leaving Cali. Plus Crack pot Covid lock down Governor, and the school has been a shite show to boot, but hey, the weather is nice!

Just me myself, I'd rather coach at South Carolina than Southern Cal.

If Fickle is basing his head coaching career around “comfort”, he not a coach that USC, LSU, or any major program should want. If the largest unit of measurement to his career plans is regional compatibility for his family, I guarantee you, no one will remember his name 50 years from mow.
