throws off his back foot too often.
But, he still has a nice arm and i like the guy and think he should start here out no matter what.

he is having to learn the hard way. he is going to be a very heady QB in the 2nd half of the year.

I was pleasantly suprised by his play. It was far from perfect but he played well and no defense is going to be able to put 8 in the box against him just to stop the run.
My wife missed much of the game because of my daughter homecoming, but she noticed he looked like Favre just like the announcers said but without hearing them say it.
Some of his throws weren't perfect but his decision making was pretty good I thought.

He does throw off his back foot and look just like Favre doing it. What a release this kid has.
Don't forget that he was the goat against AU, came back for the lead, came back to win the game, on the road in the most hostile environment he could play in. It usually takes constant trying a failing to get that kind of experience, and this kid's got it under his belt already.
Now his sophomore slump game and first start in TS as a huge favorite is out of the way. He'll probably feel more at home in Ben Grif.
He's the real deal and only gonna get better.

I was pretty impressed with him. I thought he made only three noticeably bad throws in the game: the screen pass to Keiland (which KW fortunately turned into a 15-yard gain), the interception to Dickson, and the screen pass to Murphy which he fortunately tipped out-of-bounds.
I am still a little nervous about his short passes because he stares down his primary target, but I am very impressed with his arm strength and ability to hit guys in stride. His TD pass to Byrd and the pass to Terrance Toliver are particularly good throws.
I thought he improved a lot, even from the second half of the Auburn game. If he continues to play this, we should use him for the majority of our sets this season. Either JJ or Hatch can be used like Perriloux was last season, on third and short and for general offensive diversity.

I definitely like what I'm seeing from J. Lee. If he can go in to Florida and put up solid #'s and come away with a win, IMO we will be steamrolling to back-to-back MNC's and not even the great Nick Satan will be able to stop it.

Good assessment. This is being picky, but if he learns to look at the entire field and puts much better touches on some of the shorter throws, his stats would be better.

Lee's success will be dictated by the OL's pass blocking ability. Against good DL's like FLA and Bama it will be of major importance.

Ole Miss rushed for 185 against that "good DL"

You're right baytiger - FLA is absolutely NOTHING for us to be concerned about going into it with our starting QB in only his second start.
While Lee has shown many positives he's also clearly showed a lot of areas that need improvement - D's will target him big time. I'm sure, you'll disagree with that thoguh

The KW screen would be picked off by an Alabama,UGA,or a Gator but he's a redshirt freshman. You have to love the strong arm over the middle, nice touch on deep throws and his moxie to make the big play. You also have to live with the growing pains of him being a rs fresh, but he looks damn strong.

Saban is going to blitz the shitz out of him.

should never be allowed to throw to the left flat again.

Blitz? I'm an LSU man, you'll have to explain this thing called blitz to me. Better yet, explain it to our co- defensive coordinators.

Hopefully they can reteach Chad Jones to blitz John Parker Wilson the same way he did last year before Bama comes to town.
