I watched a little less than half of it earlier, and really enjoyed it. I love the context of the Paul/George fight and how it shows that it was more of a disagreement than anything else. And after that they went back to getting along (well enough), and the next day it was back to joking and playing.
The last part I saw was when Get Back was originating. That was pretty incredible to watch it just come to life out of basically thin air while they waited for John who was late that morning. It’s cool to see them just work through songs and create masterpieces.

it’s one of George’s best songs. George was a scathing dry MFer when he was mad about something.
an all time great moment in Beatles history is when he asks them if they want to hear a song he wrote the previous night, a song about “nothing in particular” and then plays them “I, Me, Mine” LOL

Yeah George was kind of an a-hole for the most part. And it makes sense as to why he’s so bitter, but man he was so dry in interviews that he comes off as just an a-hole most of the time.

You have to figure with George being the baby of the group, joining at 13, that he was tired of being “the kid” as he was developing comparable writing/singing/performing skills like his older band mates. After 12 years, you could tell he would rather defer or just leave rather than get his ideas seemingly shot down.
In the great Anthology dvd documentary, Paul, George and Ringo narrated the whole thing. In it, George half-jokingly says “we’re in our 60s and Paul still calls me kid”’

Can’t wait to start this tonight. I’ve been really looking forward to this.

Insane they are just writing out of thin air songs that changed the history of music.
I cannot wait to see that.

Just finished part one. This is pretty great stuff. I do love that it shows them actually getting along pretty much fine. Obviously there is some contention and resentment here and there, but mostly it comes off more as just brothers (or bandmates) fighting as opposed to “OMG they are fighting and breaking up!” You can kinda tell that they’re all tired of the whole “Beatles” thing by now, but this shows how well they can and do still work together as a unit.
It is a little strange when it’s just audio and they show clips of them that clearly don’t match up with the audio. But they stated that initially at the beginning so it’s not a big deal I guess. It just sort of feels weird when it happens.
Can’t wait for parts two and three. This makes me want to watch Anthology all over again.

it’s a spellbinding moment.
Paul starts strumming his bass like a guitar and within seconds the familiar rhythm of the song emerges and he has the complete chorus composed
it has to be seen to be believed

George was like the Scottie Pippen of music. Obviously an all-time great in his own right but there are 100 guitarists you could have put in Harrison's place and the Beatles still would have been the greatest band of all-time due to Lennon and McCartney.

I will watch get back this weekend so I will comment on it later
george went to woodstock ny and hung out with dylan in fall 68 (I would have you anytime is the song he wrote for dylan) and dylan told him you can be happy on your own and do your own thing.
so lennon pulling away and macca driving the train pushed george to resentment, lennon was honest with george but he also protected him. paul really drove a wedge between all of them with maxwell’s silver hammer
I watched let it be last night and there is a nice section where ringo is working on the chords to octopus’s garden on the piano with george on guitar. macca walks in all smiles and you can physically see george set back and recoil a bit like he is expecting some remark from macca that actually never comes
let it be has no narrator and it is edited and chopped up in a non-linear way so it comes across as confusing and too negative. billy preston jidt appears halfway th rough the movie with no explanation
lyndsey-hogg made it to be a runup to a show that never happened, but the rooftop concert was the compromise to finish the movie. george refused to play live in front of an audience because he was a perfectionist and he felt rushed.
in the concert for george in 2002 they played wah wah with paul on piano and I find it weird him playing on a song about the strife that he was a big part of during the get back sessions
listen to run of the mill and read the lyrics, it is 100% about paul and it is brutal
I, me, mine and isnt it a pity are also about his sadness and frustration being in the beatles. I am still amazed I, me, mine made it onto a beatles album knowing what it is about
my sweet lord was rejected by john, he didnt want a song about God on a beatles album
also think about this junk and maybe I’m amazed were also in the works by paul and could have been beatles songs too

There are no Beatles without George.

It's interesting the line "Get back to where you once belonged" almost became an un-characteristically clear/overt political comment mocking those who opposed middle-eastern/muslim immigration into the UK. In effect, satire of a Brit that might say "Hey Pakistanis, go back to your home country!" which unintentionally could have been used as an anti-immigration anthem by those they were mocking.
Since we know the Pakistanis/Puerto Rican verses were ultimately changed, I wonder if this change will be addressed later in this series as "too overt" or just for a creative lyrical preference.

George Harrison is the reason Paul learned the bass.

Speaking of which, while I've read album liner credits where various Beatles played various instruments on various songs, it was cool to finally "see" Lennon on bass (and George & Paul playing on drums).

in let be lennon played the bass on let it be on the fender vi and he played bass chords on his fender vi on hey jude on a few takes
paul rerecorded the bass on let it be
lennon also played bass on long and winding road and helter skelter
spector said lennon’s bass on long and winding road amounted to sabotage
lennon said in the 71 playboy interview paul was trying to make his own bridge over troubled water

I never heard that Spector story.
On the Let It Be…Naked album, you can here the bass (and other instruments) pretty clearly.
The Long And Winding Road (stripped down with no orchestra)

george and john shared a fender VI when they had to play bass
spector had to remix long and winding road to minimize john’s clumsy bass line
lennon often played bass like a rhythm guitarist, just tentatively hitting the bass note of the chord on the one beat
his bass playing on helter skelter is a bit more enthusiastic but has its detractors
on helter skelter he plays a michael anthony rolling bass line that fits the song IMHO

There is a lot true in this comment. Not sure why you’re being downvoted. He was a founding member and contributed a lot, but was held back. He was also not very confident. John and Paul were absolute alphas and pushed him very hard. When they did let him shine, he did.
