Probably a while. We have a very weak non conference schedule. Maybe if we are lucky the Monday following GA Tech if we are still undefeated

My guess is that the youth of this team will have them drop a game or two that they shouldn't. That may hold them out.

Then the SEC early schedule is straight filth. That probably keeps them out most of the rest of the he way.

Luckily basketball rankings don't mean jack shite. This team is young, but good. I think they will hit stride as the season goes on.

Not really though. Texas State is a quality and experienced opponent. Liberty is very similar and will be tough. Even if not respected on the national ranking scale, these are fabulous early opponents.

It’ll take 10 straight wins at least but who cares about that, frick the media win the SEC then on to the SEC tourney.

Libert and Belmont will both win 20+ games most likely

Gonna be a while. We don't play any big names that could push us up there so we'll have to wait for others to lose and keep winning. I get why Will Wade schedules OOC games the way he does, but it'd still be nice to have home and homes with some major programs.

Agree completely but both USC and VCU bitched out on their return games. Screwed the program and us fans.

Well Auburn is ranked 22nd and gave up twice as many points to ULM than we did. Texas State was the Southland champ last year so it's not always about that. I think we see a little "Gangster" backlash in this early rankings.

What practical relevance does a ranking have? The only thing that matters is a tourney seed.

Yep. His OOC scheduling is based entirely on getting favorable results from the computers (i.e. NET rankings and Kenpom), which are major factors in the tournament seeding, but at the expense of the human polls. If we run the table in the OOC, eventually having a gaudy record would get us in, but there’s no opportunity for a big eye-popping win that would spring us up quickly until we play SEC games.

rankings are irrelevant. They're just clickbait and for people to argue. Ranking 300+ teams from all across the country is a silly exercise.

Just try to win the conference and get a good seed in the Big Dance.

I only care about the NCAA rankings and not the media rankings.
