I thought it was harsh on my ears to hear Pete say that the Pac 10 was a "ridiculously hard conference" in defense of his loss to Oregon.

Sorry for the medical analogy:
USC is like a high price titty surgeon who spends all day operating on high price gals and never has a complication. In fact, the media might even make a television show about how glamorous his life is. In his and the public's mind he is the best doctor ever.
LSU is like the surgical oncologist spending his days operating on the sickest of people with the most difficult of problems. Occasionally people get very ill and/or die. He has ups and downs throughout his career. None the less, he is a skilled surgeon fighting againsts great odds in most instances. Success for him is not measured in the realm of public opinion.
Both are good at what they do, but in reality comparing the two is like comparing apples to oranges.
Lesson: Depending on the level of challenges you face on a daily/weekly basis, it would be easy to annoint yourself the best ever. Its all about your perspective.
*I am not trying to bash plastic surgeons nor am I trying to compare football to cancer. I thought this would be a unique way to present the arguement.
