Good insight from one of the reputable coaching blog sites. Everything seems to be pointing to Jimbo or Tucker and agree with following speculation:

Tucker is nothing more than a name that people threw out because he is having a decently good season, has done a good job with the transfer portal, and has ties to Saban, Kirby, the NFL, and LSU.
Though he has had a good coaching tree, his resume is not really that impressive. He has had some good seasons as a DC and some really bad ones too. He has only been a HC for 3 years. I would speculate that this is his agent trying to do 1 of 2 things:
1. Get him a raise
2. Try and lobby for the job though he doesn’t deserve it
I’m not against a minority hire, I just want the best coach for LSU. Tucker is not that guy. I would take Napier before Tucker.

did you really link to football scoop's "nuclear winter"?
its basically a coaching fan fiction that they write towards the end of each season

Both would be very underwhelming hires

Duke: David Cutcliffe announces his retirement moments after falling to Miami to close the season. Moments after that, all the coaches in the Arch Manning Sweepstakes -- Nick Saban, Kirby Smart, Dabo Swinney and Steve Sarkisian -- are on the phone to get Cut in as a special advisor.
they're right!

Rabalais said basically the same thing too.
I also think that the way aggie is pulling big recruits right now and their recent success, the possibility of Jimbo coming to LSU is diminishing.
OU has some tough games coming up and if they lose 1 or 2 and drop out of the CFP Riley might see the futility of being at OU and be more wiling to consider LSU.
It's all just speculation. At this point I have no idea how this turns out.

He has a better resumé than most of the candidates on the list outside of Jimbo, Riley, or Rhule but he is highly regarded by the coaching world and that’s the draw. They’re not hiring a resumé, they’re hiring a football coach.

Those leaks are coming from the Sexton side. There are other candidates that he doesn’t represent who they are also talking to.

The Scoop is a very reputable site on coaching moves. This article in the OP is satire, though, and is not intended to be legit sources on anything.

No question it’s satire but mixed with a dose along potential reality. Tucker is the betting favorite in Vegas, so it’s not completely far fetched.

Better than Matt Cambell? Better than Napier? Better than Fickell? Better than Pederson? I’m not saying those candidates are in the mix, but they have better resumes and a proving track record. Heck I would even say O’Brian has a better resume.
And I somewhat agree that it’s about the coach, but if you look at SW and his track record of hiring coaches what is the one common thread found in those coaches(wether it’s football, basketball, baseball, etc) is that they had an undeniable and long track record of success at their previous programs.
So yes, SW is not hiring the resume, but he is hiring the best coach with the best resume.
