Honestly, I'd keep plans pretty open here. It's pretty fun to just casino hop for a few hours with no real agenda, playing slots or blackjack and whatnot. The people watching is pretty great as well.

The Bellagio breakfast and lunch buffet is decent, though pricey. Maybe start there and just stroll around the Strip until your dinner plans. You could do late breakfast(paying for breakfast buffet) and maybe time it right for when they start putting lunch stuff out. They don't clear out the dining room between the two, or didn't when I was there. I had a few breakfast items, then got to grab some lunch items. That'd kill two meals and likely leave you fueled until dinner, with maybe an afternoon snack somewhere.

We were there in September. We stayed at Caesar's but spent a lot of time at the Bellagio. We had dinner at Spago on the outdoor terrace overlooking the fountain. Fantastic food and atmosphere.

Breakfast: walk next door to Cosmo and try Eggslut.

Lunch: keep it light. Go fast food or cheap.

Applause for choosing Absinthe. You won’t be disappointed.

If Old Vegas means Fremont, I can't really imagine going there in the afternoon. It's sort of like going to Bourbon St. early in the daytime. It's mostly sad and you're missing the fun of the canopy lights and craziness. But do go! Go after dinner. Unless there's a real reason,

On Day 1, sometime in the evening, for me, I'd do it around sunset, go to a rooftop or high floor bar and have a few drinks. Try Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay or 107 Lounge at the Stratosphere.

I'd go get brunch/lunch early at Yardbird and then do my walking around. I'd have my dinner at Carbone early and then head down to Fremont, stopping at the Stratosphere for a few drinks.

Eggslut as mentioned is good. I love Mon Ami Gabi for breakfast.

If you won't be doing a lot of walking around, gambling, and bar hopping, then rent a car for Day 2 and go to Hoover Damn and maybe the Valley of Fire.

If you've never been to Vegas before, you should really do a bit of walking the Strip and checking out a lot of different casinos, resorts.

Is Vegas really as bad as I’ve heard lately with the bums and drugs? Haven’t been in about 10 years.

I went February last year for a long weekend and didn't notice any bums. You'll smell weed all day and night walking the strip, if that's what you mean by drugs. It's legal there to buy, but supposedly illegal to smoke it in public. There was no enforcement of that law that I saw.

. Yes. I have to say that there was a lot more of that on the strip than there used to be.

This place is our go to for breakfast. Spicy “andouille” sausage is solid. Peppermill is also good - more like a diner
