Gravy wins 40 under 40 at Baton Rouge Business report...

Presented without comment....behind a paywall, sorry for all the cut and paste..somebody PLEASE post the pic..I am old and simple minded and cannot get it to work..
Whether they’re working late into the evening to complete a big assignment, getting up early to ready their kids for school or scrambling to a nonprofit board meeting, Business Report’s 2021 Forty Under 40 class is anything but idle.
Some work for the government, some are employed in the private sector and others are their own bosses—yet all of them play a key role in making the Capital Region a better place to call home. Not only do they juggle the demands that come with nascent careers and growing families, but they also make time to volunteer for nonprofit organizations across the Capital Region, many sitting on the boards of Baton Rouge’s most influential organizations and companies.
Culling down the list of nominees for the 26th edition of Forty Under 40 was no small task, with a panel of community leaders and members of our staff taking on the difficult challenge of choosing this year’s class.
Gary Chambers Jr. | 36
Co-founder/Publisher, The Rouge Collection; Founder, Bigger than Me; Senior Strategist, Grassroots Law Project; Senior Strategist, Signature Consulting
PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Working consistently in business for almost a decade.
• Expanding health care, keeping the zoo, and reforming police policy through advocacy.
• Serving as the founding co-chair of NBR, formerly known as the North Baton Rouge Blue Ribbon Commission.
COMMUNITY:
Provided food and generators during Hurricane Ida recovery. Serves as a board member of Baton Rouge North Economic Development District.
CHALLENGE FACING BATON ROUGE:
“The lack of equity in our city. We still live in ‘A Tale of Two Cities.’ While there is real work being done to address the inequities that we have, we could be more aggressive about building a more inclusive community. Especially in the areas of business and investment. Until north Baton Rouge has the same quality of life as south Baton Rouge, we will never be all that we can be as a city.”

Is working for 10 years an achievement now?

40 tons maybe
The Ballad of Gravy Chambers
(Sung to the tune of The Ballad of Davy Crockett)
Born to a family in Baton Rudge,
Big fat fricker like a pile of fudge,
Raised in Florida and golly gee,
He can kill a whole bucket from KFC,
Gravy, Gravy Chambers, Kang Size, wide Front n’ Rear,
He can single handedly shut down a whole buffet,
Then say he didn’t like it and refuse to pay,
If anyone dares to give him some lip,
He’ll call them a racist and not leave a tip,
Gravy, Gravy Chambers, Kang Size, wide Front n’ Rear,
When Alton Sterling got his thug self killed,
Gravy knew he had some 5x pants to fill,
So he jiggled down, to the Triple S,
And made himself a name in the big protest,
Gravy, Gravy Chambers, Kang Size, wide Front n’ Rear,
When the GoFundMe money didn’t come his way,
He threw a fit on the metro council meeting day,
When they’d had enough, and hauled his arse away,
From the rear of the paddy wagon sparks did spray,
Gravy, Gravy Chambers, Kang Size, wide Front n’ Rear,
Now he says “Guhd Aftanoon” on his FB page,
Fake tears rollin down his cheeks as he screams in rage,
He picked him a fight with ol’ Silky Slim,
Then a bunch of the hood rats went and turned on him,
Gravy, Gravy Chambers, Kang Size, wide Front n’ Rear,
Now he can’t get money since the media went,
So he’s stuck living in his mom’s basement,
Even though his shirt, could double as a tent,
He should pay the OT, we keep him relevant,
Gravy, Gravy Chambers, Kang Size, wide Front n’ Rear,

Then tell the residents of north Baton Rouge to stop being shitheads and clean up their town. You don’t have an equity problem. You have a culture problem. Fix that. The rest will take care of itself.

So he means to destroy SBR until it’s as shitty and crime ridden as north Baton Rouge?

He's not wrong... but I think his idea of how to get there and mine are probably drastically different.

Not sure this needed it's on thread. Could have been combined with the "why people leave Baton Rouge" thread. Shite like this is up the top of my list...
