The Saints future at QB is bleak.

First it was Winston the Bucs' future QB. Then it became Siemien the Broncos future QB. Which bust at QB are they signing now or this off season?
I'm amazed at how many Saints fans here believe either of these two failures already at QB are the Saints' saving grace post Brees. You fans just need to go ahead and put the paperbags over your heads. You're a lost cause.

I don’t know anyone who’s being serious who thinks Sieman has any potential as our future starting QB. Winston at least had the potential to be, but even then I don’t believe anyone was 100% sold on the idea, at least not yet.

What are you even talking about? Nobody ever said Trevor was the answer for the future. Also Jamies was actually decent before the injury especially with the lack of WR depth.

Sell the farm for Rodgers or Wilson

I’ll take your viewpoint with a giant grain of salt as you thought Rosen was who we should get in the off-season.
Winston was playing well before the injury and had plenty of development potential as he got more experience in the offense. He will be the QB next year and people should learn to deal with it.

and what good would selling the farm for either of them do if our received have cinder block hands?

Evidently Payton dint planned a long term solution after Brees. Don't think he will be here after 2022 Season. Adios Sean

Yikes....what a terrible take

I thought they needed a young QB like a Rosen to try and develop. I forgot that Payton is NOT a developer of QB's. He signed Brees who already was developed by the Chargers. Now the Saints need to sign Wilson or Rogers for Payton to continue his success. But he prefers reclaimation project rejects like Winston and Siemien.

The failure to address this position is finally catching up to us

Because that's what he can afford...
We built this team thru the draft and paid as many of those guys as we could while also letting several good players walk
If we had drafted say, Josh Allen, we'd be paying him $40 million a year and Latt, Ram, etc would all be gone

Then it became Siemien the Broncos future QB

We have one of the best WRs in football in MT. All we need is a moderately priced veteran #2. That's essentially been or WR corps for years while we were lighting up the NFL in offensive production.
We have a second chance at a Superbowl window... a great defense, stout line, and elite RB's. If we can sign a QB and a decent #2 receiver... maybe hit on a TE in the draft, we can absolutely make a run.

We will never have another Brees, so you need to drop the bar. I trust that Payton can find a guy that will consistently give us 7-11 wins inside of the system.

i agree with what you are saying - but that is a LOT of If's - that's IF MT plays for us again, and IF we hit on TE.
the game yesterday was 100% on our receiving core.

I recall when we signed the Chargers future QB after major surgery on his throwing arm. WTF were we thinking.

its not far fetched at all. The QB signing is going to be the tough part. Once you have that, MT will be happy and you can easily draw in some FAs with tread on the tires, even a decent TE. The draft could be gravy.
Maybe im kidding myself, but I see a path.

We've been addressing the position. Over the last 5 years whether through FA or draft, even with TE. I mean, we could have gone all out on WR and have a shitty Oline if that's what ya'll want I agree they suck right now but our #1 is on IR and we lost our #2 to FA. At some point when Brees left we were gonna have to pay for it and right now there is no money.

The same Rosen who wasn't that good at UCLA and has been HORRIBLE in the NFL? A guy that was so bad, the team that picked him in the first round selected ANOTHER QB in the first round of the next draft because it took less than a year to figure out Rosen wasn't worth shite.
And where is the grand plan the Saints were supposed to have? For the last 10 years or so the Saints have routinely picked outside of the range where the top rated QBs are taken. The one recent year they were in range (2017) the Saints were set to take a guy named Pat Mahomes. It took KC making a massive and unexpected move from 27 to 10 to get him. And it is not like the Saints have whiffed on the guy the did take at 11 that year.
The Saints had a HOF QB and were trying to win a Super Bowl. When you have a guy like that you go all in because there is no guarantee you'll ever get another one. As far as replacing Brees the Saints' options were (1) try to get a good back end 1st round or later QB. (2) Land a good vet in free agency.
As for the first, other than Lamar Jackson (who many passed on) there hasn't great QBs available once you get out of the first half of the first round. As for the second, teams don't generally let great veteran QBs hit the FA market. That said, the Saints were able to find a former #1 pick and multi-year starter in FA (Winston) on a VERY cheap deal (two very cheap deals, in fact). The guy was lost for the season after just over 6 games. Was Winston looking like a HOFer? Of course not. But I'm not quite sure what "succession" plan you think the Saints should have implemented...but didn't

Was Siemien not the heir apparent to Peyton Manning when he retired? Yes or no?
