That singular play is what kept us from winning

I forget who it was, but the safety was supposed to stay over the top and got caught flat footed. Honestly, I wasn’t too mad about that. Secondary played great with all things considered.

Jay Ward, who made up for it on a strip sack on one of Daronte’s rare blitzes.

Plays like that happen, the WR is just fast as hell.

Max holding on to the ball far too long and those jump passes killed us. We could've overcome the TO's but last night we needed Max to make plays. Probably a great kid but should've been pulled at halftime. Funny thing is the staff did everything to win WITH THE EXCEPTION of making a QB change...if only to give Max a few series to watch from the sideline.

You can’t get too mad about that. As much as LSU was blitzing, to only give up one over the top has to be considered a success.
The offense lost this game

Yeah my bad, it was him in both cases though.

Jay Ward later popped the shite out of Bryce Young and prevented a 1st down conversion

Good play, but wasn't impressed with how he went right to celebrating, completely oblivious that there was a fumble and 2 of his teammates were scrapping hard to recover it.

Always with the fricking celebrating.

I still don’t understand how the TDP fumble was able to physically get away from Shanahan. That and the ridiculous ricochet on the INT were some serious boning by the football gods

Eh, it's just hard.

That did suck, but it was PI anyway, so no huge impact.

I meant Max’s pick. Those balls always hit the ground

Oh yeah, my bad. It was crazy how hard it came off the guy and yet still was caught. That really was terrible luck. On the other side, they did clunk a FG off the crossbar.

It wasnt missed. Bama put Williams in the slot which set the match up with Safety Cam Lewis who just could not keep up with him. Williams just blew by him even though Lewis tried to pick him up immediately.
It was just great play design that worked in their favor.

It was a blown assignment, but several other plays were just as egregious. TDP's fumble leading to that score, after his big run, and Max's interception also led to a score. And the refusal of Ed to kick a FG midway through the 4th on 4th & 8, which would have required only another FG on that late last drive directly produced the loss.

It wasn’t a blown assignment. Lewis had him. He just isn’t anywhere close to fast enough to keep up with Williams, who is one of the fastest WRs in FBS. The bust was that we didn’t recognize it and adjust the coverage. That, or Lewis didn’t just grab him and take the 15 to prevent a TD.

Ward should've been there to help.
