If someone is telling you a story they have already told you, do you tell them?

Or let them continue?
I usually just let them repeat and act like it's the first time I've heard it

What? Are you a pussy?
Of course you tell them.

Depends on how many times they've told me. I'll typically do an "oh, I think you were telling me this the other day".
If they tell me the same story multiple times they are fair game for ridicule.

Yep, but I'm not good at the people skills.

The answer varies depending on who's telling the story. A friend or colleague, yes I'd tell them. My 90 year old grandpa can tell me the same fishing story over and over and I'd never stop him. One day, I'll never get to hear those stories again

I thought this was an OweO thread
“I used to work with this guy that has a friend that knows this girl….”

My wife literally tells me everything twice. I'd say it was because she is getting old, but she's done this for as long as I've known her. I think she thinks I'm stupid or simply not listening to her. So yes, in order to get that time of my life back, I tell her she's already told me.

if you have a father in law, you're going to hear the same shitty stories over and over.

Just my father in law. He’s a good dude and loves to talk so I let him tell the same stories.
Everyone else I’ll mention that I’ve heard it.

You skip to the end and tell them the main bullet points, then move on. Laugh about it if it was funny, etc.
Although sometimes the telling of the story is the beauty of it. If a story is well told, you won’t mind rehearing it.
All depends on the situation

I fake laugh and go about my day.

I point, laugh, and yell “GERMANS!” at them

When I correct her that she has already told me, she gets mad.
