Scott seems to like to hire disciplined grinders. Mulkey and Johnson fit that description. Lane does not.

Because he coaches like he’s playing Madden on his couch? Do they have a punter or kicker in general on the team? If they do, they might as well just not waste the roster spot. He might actually go for a 4th and 27 from his own 5. The guy is terrible.

Every coach has blemishes. Name a coach that is available that their team is dominate on both sides of the ball? If you get him you will always have a good offense and good QB. Then you just have to trust him to hire a good DC. It’s pretty simple.

Let me frame Kiffin at LSU for you...
If Kiffin is on the table, so should Sumlin and Kingsbury.
All souped-up offensive coaching minds, all have been fired from P5 HC jobs. Kiffin's all time record is only 0.039 better than Sumlin.

Fired with cause from an employer. Left an SEC job after 1 year. Was fired from another employer while at the airport. He's currently in his second year at Ole Miss. If he came to LSU, that would mean he'd be in fourth year as a head coach in the SEC with his third team. Overall, he's been a head coach for something like 11 years with 5 different teams. If you want someone to come in and show great offense for a couple of years before flaming out or bolting for another job... he's our guy. If we want someone that might actually stick around and stabilize the program for a while... we need to look elsewhere.
