The downside of Youngkin winning
Posted on 10/29/21 at 6:45 pm

If Youngkin can win, the RNC and Republican Club machinery -writ large- will try to push a narrative that a milquetoast candidate in 2024 is the key to winning the “suburban women’s vote” or “suburban soccer mom’s vote”. They push this approach because what they fear most of all is an establishment disruptor like Donald Trump.
The RNC and GOPe (headquartered just outside the swamp in Virginia) want a Mike Pence / Nikki Haley candidate in 2024. The Republican Club will attempt to use a Youngkin victory in Virginia to push that national outlook.

On the flipside it'll cause democrats to work overtime to hide their obvious radicalism for 2022. Sure the radicalism is there to stay but they'll start gaslighting their followers that it's all republican talking points.
In the words of Obama "a phony trumped up culture war".

Only with the republicans is winning a bad thing

A candidate like that is the best way to win certain States like Virginia.
Nationally, though, you have to energize the new Republican blue collar base and a Romney Republican stands no chance

they will do this no matter who wins

they will try but we are done with rinos and no longer will vote for whatever milk toast appeaser they put up as their candidate. conservatives are awake and paying attention. rinos are about to see global nuke war on their ability to keep their seats. most like me are so fed up we rather see a dimrat take the seat then leave a romney, murkowski, graham, or collins type person in that seat

Let them push it.
Just don't vote for it, including in a presidential race.
The Republican establishment sucks, they get no more chances.

I personally don’t give a fck what they say…. In fact, they should be more concerned with what people like us have to say.
…And that is…. The GOPe no longer controls the Republican Party.
I held my nose and voted for shltheads McCain & Romney.
But you can bet your a$$ I will NEVER support another Pence, Hailey, Bush type Republican as long as I live and breath.

Who cares?
We’re going to vote for Trump or Ron.
Nobody else has a chance. It doesn’t matter what GOPe assholes want.

Will confirm that college educated suburban moms are the true swing vote group. Don't piss them off.

And when that's no longer the case, you'll vote blue.

Alright - I'll throw down on this when you log back in. Do you want McAuliffe or Youngkin?
I'll wait

I mean I'm a college-educated guy. I don't like the Democrats but I'm not a big fan of Republicans either.
A lot of my colleagues who would normally vote Republican have begun drifting away from the party. In 2020, Trump lost college-educated whites by over 15 points. This is a demographic Romney won by over 10 points last time he ran.
College-educated whites have much higher turnouts in mid-term elections than the blue-collar base. The more Republicans drift towards what white working-class voters want, the more it turns off college-educated whites. In a national election, it doesn't really matter but in smaller elections like midterms, Republicans used to rely on college-educated whites to vote for them.
So Republicans will have to work a difficult line.

Uh - I'm just replying to your post above - you think nothing has changed since Biden has been in office?

Winning a gubernatorial election is a lot different than winning a Presidential election.
