New a new oncologist.
Be his friend, and a source of encouragement

I had testicular cancer (embryo carcinoma) over 15 years ago and I go in every December to do blood work and see my oncologist. They always check my AFP tumor marker hormone levels and do a complete CBC. At the 5 year post treatment I stopped doing CT scans and just went to cancer marker levels
I have bleomycin (sp?) cysplatin(sp?) and VP-16 chemo’s.
My cancer when 1st diagnosed was in testicle and in lympnodes.
MD Anderson is great. Had both uncle and aunt treated by my oncologist(local doc) that then transferred them to MD Anderson for their bone marrow transplant. (Leukemia). Uncle survived but aunt did not.
Prayers for your friend.

I’ve(55 yrs ) got prostate cancer about to start my battle. It’s always on my mind even though I tell my family I’m fine… it’s always there.
I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in December 2018, two days after my 53 birthday. I'm the same way. I tell everyone I'm pretty good no matter how I am feeling but you can't help but think about it all the time.
I would highly recommend MD Anderson. I'm going there and was able to get into a clinical trial when my chemo wasn't working any more. They have great doctors there. The whole staff there are great.
As for helping your friend, I would say tell him he can vent to you and tell you what is really going on and how he is feeling. Tell him it will be just be between you and him.

Tell him to go watch the magic pill on utube it’s free. Basically teaches that real foods, the kind you go out and hunt, fish, and grow yourself are what destroys cancer cells. Sugar and processed foods fuel them.

Get to MD Anderson ASAP. The quality of care / treatment there can not be beat. At the least go get a second opinion there. Get him to feel out online form in they will be back with him in a day.
Using my wife as an example...her oncologist in Shreveport saw her type of cancer maybe once every few years. Her oncologist at MD sees it several times a month.

Get at least two opinions and one of them from MD Anderson.
Don’t trust the opinion of the Dr that says he has a year to live without having test results.

I’ve read this about crab apples too. People freeze them and then run it over a grater and mix it into drinks.

I do know he is considering MD Anderson in Houston, which I have heard is a great place to be if one should have cancer.
I did all my treatments there. They've done stuff for others when they were told there was nothing that can be done. Not to give false hope but if there is a way to treat it, they'll know how.

That sucks. Get a second opinion at MD Anderson or one of the others mentioned. Pray. Eat well. Be there for your friend.

Get a second opinion or third.
I've been misdiagnosed and been given the run around so much with treatment that I don't know what is real anymore.

I’d like to hear why one of you 6 that downvoted this in your wisdom downvoted this suggestion? I assume you’ve either seen it and disagree, or haven’t and think it’s all bs anyway.

Because the idea that by simply eating “real foods” destroys cancers cells is utterly ridiculous

When cancer comes back a 2nd time something like 80% of people die within five years.
It's a terrible disease
My dad died from it, he was diagnosed and gone within 27 days.
When the Dr says 1 year your best option sometimes is to make sure they are comfortable (out of pain). The treatments are brutal and can make people feel worse than the cancer does, if you only have a year or so left why spend it going through that.
We brought my dad home and he passed away in the living room of my childhood home (pain free), we skipped all the chemo/brain surgery. etc etc when the Dr said it wasn't going to do any good anyway

Mycancerstory.rocks is the website for fenbendazole (dewormer). Created and run by a man named Joe Tippens. There is also a private FB group by the same name. Tell him to request to join the FB group and just read through the comments and protocols. The password for the FB group is available through the website blog. There are a LOT of people who swear by it.

First, prayers for your friend, sometimes they work when medicine fails, I know from personal experience. Your friend needs the biggest and best genomic cancer panel available. Do not settle for old science, get the best possible. If your friend received radiation treatment for his original cancer diagnosis, could be the culprit. Most radiation oncologists will sadly still tell you everyone is a candidate for radiation but we have identified multiple genes that tell us many people are not good candidates. For folks with certain genes, radiation treatments increase their chances of secondary, tertiary, cancers significantly. If not those genes, very possible your friend has one of many identified syndromes. We’re learning that many cancers are connected that we previously thought were not.
Don’t worry about price, the best companies have financial assistance programs and most insurance companies will cover it.
