Won't be Franklin. Won't be Meyer. And why would Kelly leave ND for LSU?

Riley
Tucker
Napier
Fickell

In no order, I would be happy with any of those guys

Fickell is the best choice.

I just don't think he is going to take the job.

He has 5 kids who are school age.

Why would anyone with 5 school age kids move to such a high crime city in a state that ranks 48th in education?

Kids education and safety trumps a few extra bucks.

I dont think he accepts the job either

Its hard say anyone is clearly the #1 and is a lock to be very successful. Scott frost was nebraska’s sure fire coach.

Saban was not at the top of LSU’s list when they hired him

I would be shocked. Beyond shocked if Fickell happened from what I’ve been told. LSU is willing to mimic Jimbo type contract (maybe slight north of it) for the right guy.

I’m assuming that contract would be meant for Lincoln Riley? Since fickell is out

I've seen Riley coach in a bad conference and try to outlast average teams by 56-55 scores and sometimes lose because he STILL has no defense.

I've seen him coach in the Playoff and lose. Every. Single. Time. Often in embarrassing fashion, against the type teams he would face in the SEC regular season.

If we're going toward an offensive coach, give me Kiffin before Riley. He knows the SEC, great offensive mind, already has improved their abysmal defense somewhat in a short time, and would work wonders with LSU'S resources.

Makes sense and a good fall back plan.

Not buying op that Franklin is 4th choice. Not sure if he meant a particular order.

There’s a few people who would garner that contract, not many tho

Have you heard how likely it would be for Riley to say yes?

I know a lot will think it’s dumb to hire a coach based on this, but if they keep winning and looking like a playoff team… his chances diminish. LSU brass wants a coach first week of December.

That sucks. So hire a lesser coach because we can't wait.

That could change. Gets closer to crunch time and you have a big name commit thru an agent. LSU might be willing to play ball on the hire date

They think the ‘22 class is a foundational piece for a natty. They want to salvage it and maybe even improve upon it

Especially if you can start to leak it to recruits why you are waiting and have O and the old staff still recruiting.

Someone on here yesterday was saying a couple of recruits have already been told the main target is Riley.
