I subscribe so you don’t have to.
In a nutshell, expert volunteers (docents) at the Art Institute of Chicago (basically rich white liberal women) are being fired for the sake of diversity. They are getting rid of their unpaid labor to make way for paid positions with diversity, because these rich white women couldn’t adequately discuss race with minorities. While teaching art. Unrelated to race.
Today’s going to be a good day, fellas.

So they go from having free labor to spending 7M on payroll. Not to mention people will stop going. It’s going to crash

Those docents just happen to be - I’m 99% sure - the same ladies who convince their husbands to write large “donation” checks to the museum.
It will be interesting to see if they feel as charitable heading into this tax season.

A number of minority run organizations can’t budget for shite on a good day.
When they get flush at the start of a cycle, they throw money at everything. When things get to the end of a period and they don’t have the money they had at the start, the stress level goes through the roof.
I know some of the token whites who were employed at some such organizations and they ended up with major health problems caused in part by stress due to being asked to do unethical or blatantly illegal acts.

Years ago the Atlanta public library system tried this shite with their employees. I believe a judge shut that shite down.

All while pushing off their base of white liberal women donors.

Brilliant plan in today’s society. Fire white volunteers. Hire diversity at high wages for the work. Go broke. Blame it on racism of the visitors and systemic racism in art industry. Government bailout.

Apparently my post got reported for pointing out that a minority acted in a stereotypical manner.

I know what one of them was without you saying…. Not pay the payroll taxes timely. Oh still withhold it….. just not forward it.
Happens alllllllllllll the time.

If there was ever any doubt that "racism" is just a scam, this should remove all of that.

I have a formerly outspoken in-law currently going through this at a major university. My wife and I saw the writing on the wall and predicted it months ago.

It is also a matter of history repeating itself and people being unwilling to notice it due to claims of racism or other things used to excuse matters.
In the BR area alone, one can look squarely at Ralph Slaughter, former head of Southern University and brother-in-law of the “I been witch hunt!” Deedy Slaughter of Port Allen as someone who made a career getting into power and then looting organizations to benefit himself and those he favored around him.

This was discussed a few days ago
quote:quote:So assuming the volunteers worked ~10hrs/wk, replacement by $25/hr workers will run about $2million/yr. That seemed like a daunting number for a nonprofit like the Art Institute of Chicago.
And if you think that’s ugly, here is the real punchline: Their “diverse” replacements will be paid $25 an hour.
So I checked their financials, and WOW was I wrong ....

Note that of the $51M in income, $35M was from "sale of assets".
I doubt they made it from selling old furniture and fixtures. This leaves only one item: their collection.
If you owned a stock and you saw that most of a company's income was from "gain from sale of discontinued operations" you would dump the stock. Looks like the museum isn't doing that well. (Are the Chinese buying the artwork?)

$97m of that was also in “contributions”.
How many of those contributions were made by the spouses or relatives of all those volunteers who just got canned?
