Per Instagram live
he plans to stay with the team all year.
Said he’ll “be on coach mode this year.”

Well that is a BIG blow.
I'm guessing we'll see MUCH more of Brandon Murray (who Wade seems to be high on) at the 2, as well as Gaines at PG with Pinson sliding to the 2 at times.

Man, that sucks. I was looking forward to having a great shooting guard.

Surely Justice Williams and Brandon Murray are enough at SG right?

frick it, Brandon Murray pain train.
Mwani seems like a beast option at the 2 as well if necessary.

Absolutely brutal hopefully he comes back strong next season.
Going to see more Brandon Murray which seems to be the talk of preseason camp

He is not good on the perimeter, especially as a shooter/scorer.

Wade loves his intensity on both ends of the floor and said he has the potential to be a big time scorer (though stopped far short of saying he was the kind of pure score a guy like Cam Thomas was).
Pinson can play off the ball (that's most of what he did at Missouri), but I still think Wade wants it to be in his hands as PG...which has been the plan since he arrived. If Pinson slides to the 2, then Gaines is at the point. Gaines CAN be the most electric guy on the court. He has highlight reel potential. His problem last season is that he was ALWAYS looking for the highlight play...which got him in trouble when things went wrong.
It's hard to see them putting Wilkinson at the 2 often. He's just not quite that skilled of a scorer. Maybe at times if LSU wants to go really big (think Wilkinson at 2, Days at 3, Eason/Colbert/O'Neal at 4, Reid at 5). But I think your primary backcourt is now Pinson, Murray, Gaines (with Williams being a wildcard IF he is ready for the college game)

This scares me.
From Mizzou fans I've talked to about him: While he will make some ridiculous plays/shots from time to time, it's about a 1:1 ratio with plays that make you wonder if it's the first time he ever stepped on the court.
