COVID board: Are people really not supplementing?

Regarding people you know who’ve contracted the virus, become seriously ill and even died from it do you know if they were taking vitamin D, K2, C and zinc at a minimum? If they had been, how long beforehand had they been supplementing?
I’ve been taking these for many years in addition to many others including turmeric and low dose aspirin. I’ve been exposed many times and haven’t contracted the virus while those all around me have. I am a very healthy 64 year old.
I wish there statistics on this but I’d like to hear any anecdotal evidence you may have.

Have you been tested? Some folks get the virus, but the symptoms are so minor that they don't really disrupt their day to day activities.

Keep zinc and vitamin supplements on hand, get vaccinated, and keep living your life. Sounds like you are doing the right things already.

People in the US are a unhealthy group but they assume they are healthy.
It’s the reason our health statistics are shite compared to other countries WW.

Unfortunately people listen to our government and believe everything they say to be true. Money to be made in the vaccines and no real money in telling us to supplement zinc, vitamin d, etc...

I don’t know a single person who took precautions that had a bad Covid experience. All the people who either supplemented last year, got vax, or followed protocols all had easy time with virus.
Folks I knew who didn’t care and continued just doing their thing all had pretty bad struggles.
Completely antecdotal.

One thing the OP mentioned was low dose asprin.
It's recommended for men his age anyways due to benefits around circulation and heart health. There's also some research that suggests that it's helpful in reducing the severity of Covid.

I am fully vaccinated, so I don’t need any “medicine” that comes from a health food store or feed store. Maybe you did have an asymptomatic case of the virus and unknowingly gave it to everyone around you.

Vitamin supplements and low dose asprin are probably not a bad idea for most American men over a certain age. Heart disease is a major issue for us apparently.

Maybe you did the same even though you are vaccinated..

Or instead of taking all those drugs you could get one little shot that would protect you and protect others

54, lost 20 pounds in the last year with intermittent fasting. My Doctor told me 8 years ago I had a D deficiency. I started taking it everyday. I take zinc as well. Been exposed over a dozen times, never had symptoms and tested 3 times all negative. last test was 9 months ago got sick of paying $75 to be told I was negative.
not vaxxed
Also supplement with whiskey

The question that should be asked here is: Were they healthy? Did they exercise regularly?
Vaccines/supplements can only help your body fight the virus so much. It's shocking how quickly everyone rushed to get a vaccine or supplements to help them, but no one thinks to eat a salad or go to the gym.

This...plus anything that can help your circulation, including regular exercise. And a vaccine if you are older, vulnerable, or in a role that's exposes you to the virus more often.

Almost everything out there about Covid outside of vaccines are anecdotal or observational. That doesn't mean it's wrong, it just means it's not proven yet.
I see no harm in taking supplements and trying to stay healthy. And I don't see a problem with asking your doctor about drugs that are not fully tested against Covid (like Ivermectin) or some that are often prescribed to Covid patients (Prednisone) if you want to try to keep some on hand. But it's unlikely that they prescribe it to you without an infection.

Nope, I was tested for the antibodies hoping I had the virus so I wouldn’t need the vaccination…no such luck.

I’ve been taking a multi vitamin, C, D3, and Zinc daily, and magnesium and elderberry a couple times a week since this all began. I’ve also been eating a lot better with lean proteins and fresh greens, mostly fresh salmon and salads. This just makes good sense Covid or no Covid, but in light of Covid, why wouldn’t I do it?

It is fricking weird how some people can get it with a minor exposure, others can avoid it with a prolonged exposure.
So much about this virus is not known yet.
