Runoff would have been from when they stopped the clock not when he was down.

I mean they pretty clearly spiked it with 1 second left.

Pit got a free chance to make them false start imo

That was hilarious. He spoke into the mic so purposefully and with conviction it was going to be tails

made the clock set to 1 second, which wouldn’t have given enough time for Geno to get the spike off.

So then Seattle could have just had the FG team on the field already and snapped the ball on the ready to play.

Yes, but he was down at 11 seconds. Runoff happens after review meaning the clock should have started at 1 second.

Geno can’t get the spike at 1 second. That is game over.

Even if it is from 11, that leaves 1 second can’t get a spike off with 1 second.

There is only a 10 second run off on a running clock if the replay changes something I believe. The logic being, if the call had been correct, potentially more time would have run off.

I could be making shite up, but I believe that’s right. In this game, no change was made, hence no run off applied.

Pretty sure it was 12 plus.

Either way, they can still get a kick off in 1 second.

Moot point.

If the runoff doesn’t start from when they stopped the clock then why wasn’t there 11 second left after the review?

A spike literally takes at a minimum 2 seconds.

Could they get the FG off with LITERALLY 1 second?

Being that they just have to snap it for a field goal and nothing else, probably so.

They reviewed THAT PLAY. Which means the first spike never happened.

There should’ve been a 10 second runoff which would’ve made the clock set to 1 second, which wouldn’t have given enough time for Geno to get the spike off.

Instead they set the clock for THREE seconds.

That game was over.

Well, they shouldn’t have reviewed that play in the first place, so it’s a little dumb to act like Pittsburgh got screwed. On top of that, if for whatever dumb reason they did say there was 1 second left Seattle immediately puts their kicking team out there instead of Geno so the game is not over.

They just have to snap it in one second. Game ends on the FG then rather than the spike.

Do you know how many times a kicker and holder look at each other? Before the holder snaps it?

Can they do all of that shite in 1 second?

Maybe I would have liked to see it

It appears the clock isn't runoff unless a change is made, not sure.

It would punish the offense by running more than 10 seconds from the end of the play. 20 seconds to spike it is an eternity. That's not the rule.

I think the refs fudge things perhaps because they never should have reviewed in the first place.

Steelers fans sure are angry about the proper and fair outcome of the play.

Are you thick? The snapper would just snap it as soon as the whistle blows

Yeah, that’s why I don’t get this. Like, people are complaining about the fact that they couldn’t get cheated into a win.
