Question for you all. I have some friends of mine that work for government contracting companies. Those Companies are mandating vaccines. Take the state of Texas for instance. I know Governor Abbott signed an executive order banning vaccine mandates. Does one executive order over power the other within that certain state? How does this work? Thanks.

Executive orders have no power outside the federal government.

Of course, this assumes any judge gives a shite about the law anymore.

If the contracts are with the fedgov, they’ll have to be vaccinated unless scotus says otherwise…which is unlikely.

I'm a fed contractor and got my notification of the "need to get vax'd as a condition of employment" yesterday. Fed contractors need to fill out a DD Form 3150 which I did a few weeks ago but chose the option "I decline to respond" which I haven't changed. The notification letter gave us until 8 Dec to obey the dictators in charge.

I emailed Gov. DeSantis yesterday and informed him. Being on a fed installation and working for a company that's based (yeah double meaning) out of CO may preclude him from doing anything but I told him that we're Floridians and we need him and the state to defend us against the is bullshite. I'm waiting on a reply.

A religious or medical exemption may be possible.

Here's what mine says about exemptions:

quote:

Any employee who is not vaccinated against COVID-19 because of a disability (which includes medical conditions) or because of a sincerely held religious belief, practice, or observance needs to contact Human Resources to request medical or religious accommodations. Any accommodations request will be vetted internally for reasonableness by Human Resources following ADA and/or religious accommodation standards. All accommodation requests will be coordinated with the government customer and contracting agencies for acceptance. All requests will be evaluated, but accommodations acceptance is not guaranteed.

This is the last sentence in the above paragraph:
quote:

Obtaining vaccination per federal contract requirement is the most efficient and safest path out of the COVID-19 pandemic

I am a DoD contractor and also have the Dec 8 mandate. I'm totally against the jab, but am in a situation where I can't give up this job that I love and attempt to move to the commercial sector. I have a family to support. At this point, if I go with the Moderna, I have to get my first jab by next week. I could go the religious exemption route, but I think that is risky and my company could just choose to let me go. It's really eating at me, but I have no choice but to get it. All I can do is pray that God will protect me.

I got the Moderna vac back in Feb/March so I'm covered. IF I had the info I have now I probably wouldn't have gotten it. My concern now is mandating boosters and add'l vacs plus I think the whole mandate is un-Constitutional.

I completely understand your predicament and if I was in the same boat I'd probably get the jab.......whatever you choose to do........

I don't know about the laws around medical accommodations, but they have to accept requests for Religious Accommodations. It's against the law for them not to.

However, they don't have to grant one. If they decide that granting you an RA would be adverse to the business, they can deny it. They also don't have to give you the RA that you want. If they decide you have to test weekly and wear a mask, that's the RA.

Only the legislature can pass laws. The president isn't even part of that branch of gov't. country for many many decades.

But your post and mine are not relevant because we are no longer a country of laws. We are currently ruled by a puppet controlled by entities outside of our country. And it isn't even Xi. He is partnered with the controllers for sure.

And it didn't start with Biden. They have slowly infiltrated our country for decades.

Then they better have damn good reason why they released you. If you request an RA and they fire you, any good attorney will have you owning that company...in the courtroom, anyway. It wouldn't matter what they claim at that point, firing you after you submitted an RA request would look like religious discrimination.

I think I'm correct when I say, the Biden EO regarding Federal Contractors can't be superseded by state law. A President, as head of the Executive branch, has power over the Federal government which includes Federal contracting.

They may in fact accept Religious exemptions, just stated the mass letter/email we got made no mention of ANY exemptions, procedures, etc. I've been intentionally been dragging my feet on all of this nonsense, letting everything go until the last second to force their hand on reporting and taking actions. Curious to watch how far it's going to go before they start turning us contractors loose.

It is bizarre that President* Brandon is going for yet another stupid one-size-fits-all diktat. Beyond "my body, my choice," a vaccine for low risk people and those 120 million who have had covid is absurd.

I'm a Christian man who regularly attends church, but what are others using as their justifications as to filing a religious exemption?

Not sure how this is going to play out (federal versus state). Will be interesting. But I am not going to take the vaccine as a condition of employment no matter how much it costs me. I will take it if I see there is a clear health benefit. And right now, I don't.
