1. I hate taxes

2. I know it opens the door to slide the scale down to eventually get to upper middleclass and middle middleclass

3. I know the ultra wealthy could afford it, but that goes against #1 and #2

4. If there was a legitimate threat to the fortunes of the wealthy say assets >$10mm, would that force their hand to fund campaigns counter to the establishment and AOC/ Bernie types.

What would it take for those with the means to get involved?

We see it with the left with the Soros funded DA's and Judges.

Should Republicans play the game of funneling fedgov dollars to right wing "non profit" activist groups as a means of counter activism?

If you’re not countering the opposition you’re compliant to them.

how do you feel about the top few dozen companies paying no tax?

how many billions a year is enough for the space tourists?

answer those.

one of your issues is without merit in this discussion.
you state fear that you middle class are more likely to be hit up for spare change if we tax income over a million at a different rate than if you make 250k. that's a strawman. don't freak out over right wing fantasy.
the projected cutoff is over 400k.
the objective is to pay for new programs.
unlike the trump tax cut that costs us all interest on the trump debt the dems plan to pay as we go.

It is not tax the rich, it is the rich don't deserve another tax break. Who is talking about giving the rich a tax break? No one. It is just subterfuge for raising taxes on everyone.

I closed a sale on a property today that I only sold because of upcoming uncertainty in California property exemptions.

I'm not filthy OT rich but I have enough to plan accordingly.

I'm on record here for years as against any corporate tax.
I was answering the op what's being floated by dems.

You mean following tax policy put in place by Democrats and Republicans?

And they do pay taxes, you are just a complete moron on how taxes work.

Is this supposed to be a measurement by which the almighty government is empowered to claim the property of individuals?

The problem is that we can't even pay for the "government" we currently have and they want more money for more government. Not to mention that the people that use those government programs aren't the ones paying for those programs. I pay ~40% of my income per year on government programs that I'm mostly not eligible to use. But I need to pay more of my "fair" share.

Honestly, I'd happily pay more of my income each year for the government to just leave me alone.

Kinda weird I guess, vote to tax someone else that's rich right now but people are hoping to make more money one day and then complain they are taxed too much.

Part of the problem is talking about taxation while confusing wealth for income.

The citizens that support these policies can't see themselves ever being in that position. They're so short-sighted that they never see their children or their children's children being that successful either. It's very self-defeating and selfish.

Companies don't pay taxes, they just bill the customer those taxes.

Agreed. I could have phrased it better. I was thinking of wealthy who are better at diversifying their income streams.

I just didn't want income to be the only factor.
