I decided on this: 8TB Internal Seagate "Bare" drive

I needed the room. No sermons on SSD, please.

Well if you need 8TB, SSD is still crazy expensive for that much storage and would require at least 2, so maybe a NAS sermon would be more appropos.

In fairness, all you said was that you were looking to replace a 2TB HD that died. At 2TB or less, SSDs are the obvious choice for anyone who isn't the height of price sensitive.

Had you mentioned that you were looking to significantly increase capacity as well, I doubt you would have gotten many, if any, SSD replies.
