This “Comfortably Numb” live performance in England from 2006 is my favorite all time guitar solo. It starts at the 4:30 mark and rips for over 3 minutes. Literally gives me chills.

I’ve always thought the solo in The Unforgiven (Metallica). Was really well done and fit the song great

I don't subscribe to the notion that any musician, song, or solo can be ranked as "the greatest," since most of us enjoy the incredible creativity expressed by a wide variety of musicians, so I'll just mention two of my favorite solos that I know no one else is going to mention...

Not sure how anyone can determine the best guitar solo because it’s too subjective, that said Ritchie Blackmore’s dazzling solo on Lazy from the Machine Head album is pretty solid.
