I don't think we know what to look for, to be honest.

I think our coaches are like the scouts from "Moneyball" talking about how they pass the eye test and their girlfriends are 9's or 6's.

Do we even look at dimensions like intelligence, strength, ability to learn, etc.? Alabama has very specific criteria they look for in every position, so they know how to recruit to it and that is how they stay so consistent.

We need to focus less on stars, size, etc. and get guys that are smart and have enough athletic ability to be developed.

O Line is the most cerebral part of the team, and we don't have smart people playing these positions, outside of 1 Harvard transfer that lacks all of the other dimensions except intelligence.

See, you say that, but in 2016 our current head coach (then interm) after being shut out by Bama said we needed 4* and 5* to block 4* and 5*.

However, since then both LSU and Alabama have signed 20 offensive lineman (not including transfers in). LSU has signed ten 4 or 5*, where Bama has signed 15.

So half of LSUs linemen signed over the last 5 recruiting classes are 3* or below. We're also not getting a whole lot of production out of our 4 and 5*. I'd bet the same isn't true for Bama.

This is half right. We need elite Guys coming out of high school. LSU puts their eggs usually in 1 guy that is supposed to be elite. The rest are usually mid level guys that you would like to be ready in 2 years. Problem is the Elite guy they banked on turns out to be non elite and the 2 year project guys are not developed. LSu needs at least two Cam Robinson,L. Collins type guys signed every class with maybe 3 more mid level guys. We are not doing this. The portal is not the Answer.

Bama,UGA, OH ST,clemson, ok get at least 2 or 3 elite guys that play early yearly on the OL. Notice a trend with the teams mentioned they are usually playoff contenders. LSU has failed miserably at getting top notch OL classes and developing depth. This was Miles and will be the downfall of O.
