What about that house down the road from Nicholls State
The Donny Rouse house you posted was designed by the same firm that built the house in Morgan City.

1250’ of the waterfront along the Teche is a pretty good trade off.

I like the Mount Vernon knockoff in Larose, LA.
Also, False River and New Roads have a lot of really pretty ones.

think for quite a while construction was also halted because before the house was ever finished they had foundation problems, wasn't that whole area pretty low/swampy back before they built everything back there?
Yep. Heard the whole thing was sinking and they had to bring in engineers to figure out how to fix it.

Hmm not familiar with that one then. I probably just assumed it was all the same family

There's the Hakim house right next to ULM on Bayou DeSiard in Monroe that took them 30 years to complete.

I know members off all the families except this one. Never heard of them.
The Finkelsteins pretty much founded Morgan City. A Nelkin married a Finkelstein.

There are three Guarisco families out of MC and the ones he’s referring to haven’t lived there in quite awhile but still own the damn town
You know what’s up.
I’m sure you and I know each other.

This was just constructed, and was designed by George Hopkins Architects.
More pictures from the architect

I’m still trying to figure out how I have no idea what this back story is. My mom was born and raised in Franklin and I grew up in Patterson

Other than to show off of course

I would also like to go on record as saying I knew frank didn’t live in that house, I just thought it might’ve been the same family or something.

quote:we very well may. If that’s the case you prob know just as well as I do that MC had the possibility to be a lot more than what it currently is even after the oil companies left town but a certain family didn’t want to let off the land and they still don’t for the most part because they don’t need to

However they have sold off some property over the past few years

Wasn't that where they filmed Duck Dynasty at for Willie's house?

we definitely know of each other if we don’t know each other directly
quote:you are absolutely right they have but not nearly as much as what they could get off of. One area in particular I’m thinking of but I think years back it became a bald eagle nesting ground and was protected, not sure if that still stands though

The area you’re referring to was/protected bc of the Eagles then on top of that the USCOE declared it a wetlands area and restricted building. However I think they have clearance now to start developing it because they built new levees and added pump stations, which I think they missed the boat. Everyone moved to Berwick/Renwick and built houses there.

It could have been but the oil companies built Lakeside in the 60's, 70's and 80's.....I doubt they did any type of studies back then...but Lakeside has never flooded....not even for Andrew

Renwick and along the Teche from Berwick all the way to BV has some really nice house....a lot of money in that little area
