Given Peetz’s inexperience learning on the job, and O’s apparent cluelessness, it would seem that having an experienced level headed mentor in the box helping him would step things up by a significant level. The issue now is not as much about the design of the plays or whether they exist in the playbook, but how to get the right plays onto the field at the right time, and the discipline required to orchestrate the offense. Peetz needs coaching and mentoring and Ed has no ability to provide it to him.

The very fact you have to bring in someone from retirement to help the OC you interviewed and hired demonstrates Orgeron’s ability as HC

Can a guy just walk off the street, get a play chart and successfully call plays?

I don’t think so.

You work full time all week studying the opponent, putting in your plays, and then seeing what you think works best on Saturday.

Soooo bad gameplans already for every game this season? That becomes poor judgement.

So now we need a retired old coach to coach the new coach almost halfway into the season? This is very on brand for the clusterfrick under O.

By O bringing in Ensminger he admits to the world that Peetz needs more experience and O has no idea how he himself can fix the problem. Os ego won’t allow this.
If O was really smart then Brady would still be here. O knew that Brady being here was a threat to his job so that would not happen.
Brady leaves, Ensminger leaves for whatever reason, DC leaves and Os abilities to be a HC are exposed.

Lol he is getting paid $1.3 million and needs a baby sitter? Why can’t Coach O interview and hire a competent coordinator?

Proves that CEO has no idea how to hire the best coordinators. He hired 2 of them that’s never done it before. You don’t think there will be problems.

The DC was a DC before and our defense has improved week to week.

Because O is a recruiter and motivator not a head coach.

Has anyone said how much more involved he'll be moving forward?

Peetz needs to simplify what they're doing out there and just stick with tempo. The only personnel change should be Kiner and Goodwin taking over as the feature backs. I think both of those guys have serious potential if LSU can commit to running the ball and playing with tempo. They need to start sending those two on some routes out of the backfield as well, there's a lot of space out there for them when the defense vacates to cover the deep pass. How LSU has not utilized the RB's in the flats and on some quick hitters needs to change, get these two freshmen on the field and get them going.
