He's young and has potential.
His ceiling is higher than Cannon, Yedlin and Shaq Moore.

With Scally’s emergence it’s a lot easier to digest, but it still sucks to lose a promising young player to Mexico.

His attacking movement is very good. He is very fast and very good at tracking back and dispossessing attackers. He works very hard.
His final ball isn’t great but he makes good crosses. He’s out of position alot and relies on his athleticism to get back.
I feel equally about his usefulness to USMNT as I do with Dest. He would 100% be in the team, but Mexico’s style of play is probably a better fit for him.

Yedlin is a fantastic comp. Yedlin was an MLS All Star at the same age and got bought by Tottenham a year later. He’s better with the ball at his feet than Yedlin ever was. I don’t know if he’s as good of a defender or not.

His defending has improved greatly this year.

It’s tough to evaluate when he’s such a part of the attack and the Galaxy’s defense is so dreadful. He’s by far the best fullback they have. Lack of competent CB’s does him no favors too.

Adjacent to that story, Ochoa got called up to Mexico's U-21 squad today.

No. 0% relevant to the future of U.S. If anything, one less fake "American" in the pool wasting our time. GTFO

This isn’t a major loss. He wasn’t going to be a superstar.

He's a loser. Only a loser would want to represent that shithole fanbase and country.

This is no real loss.
We have great depth and talent at RB. He saw he wasn’t going to sniff the pitch except in second rate competitions and made the move.

Hard for me to blame a guy for choosing a country he feels most connected to. I’m not pulling for him by any means, but I wouldn’t want him picking the US if his heart wasn’t in it.
No use shitting on him.

He would have to fight through Dest and Scally for the position. Not to mention, Shaq Moore and Yedlin. Also, Reynolds is very young, but has not gotten much run at Roma.
We seem to have a lot of depth and quality at right back.
I'm certainly very glad it is Pepi that has decided to play for the US because of lack of depth and quality at striker.
