And he needs to get reemed for that. Max is taking way too long to get the team lined up. Then he looks over to the sideline with less than 10 seconds left. Zero clock awareness.

Looks to me like the team is waiting for the first play call to get lined up, then Max is looking to the sideline as he’s been coached to do.

I’m not saying Max is blameless by any means but this falls mostly on Peetz IMO. We have had problems getting the check called all year. At some point Peetz has to build a better mousetrap.

Max needs to check into running plays in these situations. So what if the coaches give him hell.

What if he doesn't have a run play to check to since the HC and OC have no faith in the Oline??

The "check with me" adjustments have been a nightmare since UCLA. Everyone can see it except the coaching staff. Defenses are presenting false fronts and check into their defense after Peetz freaks out and changes the play. Opposing D coordinators dont even need to play chess. They are playing checkers while LSU's press box playing tic tac toe simply throwing Xs and Os on paper hoping for a win

They have their moments.

I still like actually reading the newspaper in the mornings. I stare at enough phones, tablets and TV screens throughout the day. It’s nice to just eat breakfast and read the Sports page to me.

I agree to an extent but it’s also clear that Max completely ignores the play clock when making adjustments on his own. Boutte had to yell at him at one point. He just has no sense of urgency.

I will say that I might have to defend him on that point. The play is coming in with less than 10 seconds on the clock. He has to adjust the blocking scheme based on the play change given the new look the defense is showing. He has to communicate that to the offense. The press box is not giving him enough time. He's starting his 7th game and is given way too much responsibility. It's the coaching staff job to put him in position to be successful I don't think they're doing that

Running plays as in plural? We only have inside zone

Just messing, I completely agree with you. It’s absolutely pathetic and inexcusable that LSU can’t run on a 3 man front.

My goodness. He really is clueless about everything. Even non-LSU fans new the Oline was going to be a problem this year. This guy is straight up dumb.

I can't believe he actually said that. I thought that they would be a little better than what we've seen so far just because of the experience. But, I think most of us on this board thought it would be one of (if not) the weakest units on the team.

It all boils down to team speed, and this is one of the slowest ever at LSU. Not everyone obviously, but overall, especially on the lines and RB, we are slow. It makes a difference.

If we could gain 100-125 ypg we would be 5-0...
