St Aug lawn in the NOLA area. Have had trouble with VBW in the last but after the hurricane it seemed to spread like wildfire. Applied celcius for the first time 2 weeks ago after following the advice on this board for quite some time. It was mature VBW.

2 weeks later I have some yellowing and it seems to have knocked quite a bit of the various weeds out, but I still have some spots that are flowering. My question is it okay to hit it again this soon for spot spraying? I used the high rate last time, should I do so again this time? I also used surfactant.

TIA!

I would say yes to all your questions, particularly if spot spraying patches. The Celsius label says 2 to 4 weeks for re-spray for VBW and you are in that window.

As long as you are just spot spraying the worst thing that will happen is that it will brown or kill the grass around it. Don't keep nuking your entire yard, but spot spraying isn't really a big deal.

You can also take a small paint brush and brush it with roundup fwiw. Sometimes that's easier as its one and done.

Thanks all of that is helpful advice. Since I’m going after it with the Celcius pretty good, will I have a window for pre-emergent this Fall? Or would I be applying to much stress on the grass in a small period of time?

You can apply pre-emergent with no harm/stress to the lawn while using post-emergent herbicides. The exception is if the grass is newly laid sod, sprigs, or plugs as pre-emergent herbicides suppress root development - but that info will be on pre-emergent label.

You will NEVER kill it all, you can only control it.....

Spot spray with super high dose is the only way I have gotten any results.

Worst weed ever.....

I had 20 pallets Centipede laid in June. I, too, have VBW issues. I've been pulling up by hand.
I've read I need to start in early Spring with Weed B Gone. One temps are 85 hit with Celsius 4-6 weeks apart.
Where is the best place to buy Celsius.

Several websites have Celsius, my son orders it, so I don't know the best place.

In the last week, VBW has exploded....again.
I will try one more year of full assault, next year at this time, I will know.

Good Luck.
