Is this the least hopeful you've been this century?

Since Dinardo, I can't remember being worried we might lose to MSU before the game. The way the team looks now, it could go 1-6 the rest of this season (doubtful). I'm hopeful Coach finds the right switch because this is a talented group of young men.

Do you remember 2020 or were you in a COVID coma?
Going into the last part of that schedule I was just hoping we didn't lose by more than 28.

I’m actually very hopeful because we have a competent athletic director

If football affects you this much you should get counseling. We all love LSU football but to feel hopeless goes beyond reason.

I was hopeless at the start of the 2020 Mississippi State 2nd half. Never left until LSU played Florida. Never fully went away either after I learned that Coach O did not interview Pelini.

Hell freaking no. I lived through the Les Miles era.

2008 was bad. 2020 was bad. 2021 is not either of those unless they tail spin. I think they’ll get better. You have a young QB who already has 15 touchdown passes and is getting better. The defense is vanilla and is not dominant but it’s not as bad as the 2008 or 2020 versions. With some luck this team could go 9-3. Most likely 7-5 or 8-4.

I had very low expectations going into 2018 season considering the schedule. Boy, was I wrong.

A Costco sized tub of Vagasil will make you feel more hopeful.

I think there is a lot of parity this year in college football, and if things break our way we could still go 9-3 or 10-2 and play in a New Year's Six game.
As for Orgeron being the head coach, I am fairly sure we won't win big with him anymore in the future. But at the same time, winning game is fun. I enjoy it and will continue to cheer for it no matter who the coach is.
If we go 9-3 and Orgeron gets another year... sorry, I just can't find any outrage in me for that. Call it apathy, call it whatever you want.
ETA: I spelled parity wrong

One might even argue that Coach O seems like a parody of a college football coach...

I think you need to get out your bubble.
A&M and Auburn have issues.
Kentucky is beatable. There are very realistic wins on the schedule even if your pessimistic

frick no, man. We have an athletic director who will make the right decision when the time comes and hire someone awesome. We'll be back, stronger than ever. Might take a year or two, but when it happens we're gonna blast some fools on the regular.
Damn.

Are we just looking for lower tier wins or looking to compete for national championships?

Isn't he the one that signed Jimbo Fisher at aTm?
Home run hire that was.

A&M is definitely going in the right direction compared to us.
