The Lions are the masters of crazy regular season losses

The Saints may have perfected the art of soul-crushing playoff losses but nobody beats the Lions for sheer creativity when it comes to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in the regular season.
2015 - Packers at their own 20 with time for only one play. They try the desperation lateral play and Rogers gets tackled around the shoulder only to have a bogus facemask penalty called. On the untimed down he throws a 65 yd hail mary to win the game.
2017 - 12 seconds to go against the Falcons at the 2 yd line, Stafford throws out to Golden Tate, who dives in to the endzone for the winning touchdown with 8 seconds on the clock. Play is reviewed and the touchdown is overturned with the mandatory 10 second runoff so the game is over. Lions lose without even having chance to spike the ball and run another play.
And of course yesterday the record setting fg hits the upright and bounces over after a delay of game penalty is blatantly missed.
Plus they had the playoff game against the Cowboys when the PI flag was picked up.

They lost to the Ravens in 2013 on a 61-yard FG by Tucker

Even Megatron couldn't escape the curse of the Lions. Here he is in a 2015 MNF game at Seattle fumbling on Seattle's one yard line with just under 2 minutes left as he was about to score the go ahead TD. When Seattle's K.J. Wright deliberately knocks the ball out of the end zone, it was a penalty that wasn't called. It would have given the Lions the ball back. LINK
How must Jared Goff feel going from the Rams into this?

I mean, this logo exists for a reason....

What about when Marty Mornhinweg won the coin toss in overtime and elected to kick it to the Bears, who proceeded to win on the possession
Or when Jim Schwartz threw a challenge flag on a scoring play (which was automatically reviewable), thereby drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and having the play not get reviewed.

If one picture symbolizes the Lions...and to think that this clown is now an ESPN "expert."

I’m a Falcons fan who currently lives in the Detroit burbs. I have a soft spot for them by now and between the two nothing surprises me any more

One playoff win in over 60 years pretty much says it all.

And they lost that Orlovsky safety game by 2 points, the closest they got to winning a game that year.

As bad as yesterday was the Lions we’re also part of a very long lasting FG loss. I was 10 years old living in Michigan watching the lions playing theSaints.. it was 17-16 lotions late in the 4th and the Saints brought in stubbed foot Tom Dempsey to try a 63 yard FG and he ended up making it… a record that stood for like 35-40 years.

Browns went 1-41 before Baker Mayfield showed up. The Browns challenge this easily.

Especially because of the delay of game miss. It wasn’t even close.

Stop trying to make everything about you. Y’all can’t even come close to the heartbreak of the poor Detroit fans. Plus, nobody likes Cleveland

When will you guys win a season opener?

Is there some sort of curse on the Lions? Maybe we missed something.

Not even close. The Lions have been dismal since the 50’s. The Browns were very good until Art Mudhead moved them.

Orlovsky was laser focused down the field.

Don't forget the 2010 opener against the Bears. I'm pretty sure that was the moment that brought "complete the process" into the NFL lexicon.
As a Bears fan, it was 100% a catch and TD, even if I wouldn't admit it at the time.

One of the worst calls ever.
