Our politicians are absolutely in love with Israel. I got no problem with Israel, but their unified love of Israel is wild. The only thing in the world they are unified on.
You could put of a bill to declare that air has oxygen in it and it would not get that kind of lopsided vote. It is crazy.

Considering that defunding Israel in this case would be siding with Hamas, I think it makes it an easy decision for non-Squad members.

They’re somewhat of a satellite country in the Middle East that provide stability to the region. And they share our Judeo-Christian values.

Funding for the “iron dome” is funding for a strictly defensive system. The US’ interest in that system is to knock down a terrorist aggression that is intended to drag Israel into a Middle East conflict and pull the US into it.
We do not just fund Israel. The US dumps money into all of the third world shitholes on the planet and not one damn tangible thing comes out of it except for padded dictator pockets.
In 2021 the US wrote a foreign aid check, for some reason, to all of central and South America, every country in Africa, most of Eastern Europe. India, Australia, Italy, Spain, and.. and… Canada.
But allll the bitching is about a defensive system in Israel. All of it. That actually can be accounted for.

The only reason they generally aren't fighting each other is that they have Israel to blame instead.
You could have Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Turkey at each other's throats and they'll all claim whatever is going on is a "Zionist plot" because Israel is living rent free in their collective minds.
