Threaten to cancel like the rest of the buffoons who call SiriusXM and think they’re innovators.

After Laura I got my bill from $230 to $99..

Don't frick with the normal people... Immediately ask to speak to the Loyalty Department. That's the frickers that can get shite done.

With the NFL Sunday Ticket contract ending this year, this has to be the end of the line for DirecTV. AT&T is already trying to dump that arse. Losing the only reason to have their service anymore has got to be it. Retention won't mean a thing once they cease to exist.

Also, never sign a contract because you can just threaten to leave every year before football and they will give discounts/Sunday ticket every time.

Satellite TV is dying rapidly. AT&T took an absolute bath on the Directv deal. They will be giving it away soon.

Every 12 months. I have two $40 discounts on my account. Will switch to YoutubeTV as soon as they don't renew either of the two discounts. Been going on 3 years now with them which is keeping my price competitive with YTTV.

ETA: One big benefit of satellite was during Ida. I had TV the entire time (home generator) while my internet was out for a week.

It's a good "going away" present. Here have this thing we are about to lose.

This. I never lost signal on my Directv during Ida. So many friends lost their internet and couldn't watch anything but OTA channels for nearly 2 weeks. It certainly gives me reason to stick with my satellite TV for a little longer.

I called and cancelled and was very firm (I did cancel) but like mentioned about we were above 181/month no movie channels and WOW they could get me to around 70-80/month for a year. I said I appreciated the offer and cancelled. you can get live TV for cheaper than that plus there are always .99 deals thought amazon or hulu to get movie channels if needed

I canceled my directv 3 months ago and they offered me about a 30% discount to stay.

Stayed strong and said no; feels great to finally be rid of AT&T

We threatened to cancel. Been with them 15 years and have no discounts. They told us to go ahead and cancel so we did.

We pay $105 a month for just about everything with DirectTV. That's a price point we are comfortable with.

All of my local channels have been shite of lately. They constantly blink during a big play. I wish I could cancel and go stream but our internet sucks out here so I don’t have much of a choice.

I have the choice package and I'm paying $130/mo which is ridiculous. There's over $50/mo in fees and shite. I'm cancelling tomorrow.

Agree, never lost satellite signal with Directv during IDA. I pay $192 monthly . Recently called to lower bill as I haven’t had new equipment In 6 years.
They offered $50 off a month for a year. Best they would do so I switched to YouTube TV Saturday. Screw them, I’ll use my phone as a hotspot next storm.

Might look into dish tv later on.
