I'm no criminal law expert but I do not think that "clock starts ticking" when the charged person is evading arrest.
I think he was saying that once he's arrested, then the clock starts.
I'm just surprised that anyone is doing any "speedy" trials these days, as it seems like every community is backlogged on court cases - murder cases included.

Its like they don't want to admit he was under surveillance and still kind of admitting its a mystery as to how he got away cause they were keeping an eye on him. Parents story is full of shite.

North Port Police has been facing criticism for making no progress in the investigation. The officers had claimed earlier that they were monitoring Brian before he went missing.
"What I'll say to that is that we were doing everything within the law that we could with the facts and the circumstances at that time," he said. "What I'll say is that that is … something that we're working to figure out as far as how he got away."

Right. So the TV guy doesn't know wtf he's talking about if the "clock" is the reason they haven't charged him. It's more than likely because they're still accumulating evidence.

or they have no idea where he is and are already using all resources to try to locate him as if he was the murderer, not the credit card fraud suspect...

The way I understood what he was trying to say is that if they charged him without enough evidence then caught him right away they clock would start before they had all their ducks in a row...
Why are you so angry all the time?

I still believe Laundrie used his "head start" to get into Mexico. He possibly had logistical and financial help in doing so (the FBI is investigating those who knew Laundrie) and could have easily altered his appearance. He could be in a lot of places by how.

What's the statute of limitations on this. It's going on two months. He's going to DB Cooper this thing.

There is not limit on a murder charge.
He could be 105 and still get charged with murder.

If it was 2 months for murder, a lot more people would be committing murder.
