i mean...theyve discovered a crime has happened and the only reason why they cant charge the guy is because he is running from the law. why shouldnt they be able to bring charges on him if he is finally found 50 years from now?
for criminal offenses, the tolling of the SOL begins when the crime is committed, not when someone is charged. That would completely defeat the purpose of the SOL if it only began to toll once someone was charged.

right. what im saying is, a crime was found and it happened within the SOL and the only reason why the suspect hasnt been charged is because he is running from the law
if he is found 50 years from now, why shouldnt they be able to charge him

The SOL only requires that the legal proceedings commence within the prescribed time, not be fully adjudicated. So if someone is formally charged with a crime and they thereafter are fugitives on the run for 50 years, they can't then assert a SOL defense. Now, there may be some issues with the preservation of evidence for that long but they can still be prosecuted.

Local radio this morning strongly implied some hunting cabins that were broken into near the GSMNP were done so by Brian Laundrie. Supposedly the only thing stolen was food.

that's exactly what those two dudes who escaped from prison in NY 5 or so years ago were doing

If I remember correctly they were caught pretty quickly once authorities determined it was them breaking in.
Archery season starts here again in a few days. If it was Brian, there’s a good chance he will be seen by a hunter.

Laundrie is and was always too big of a coward to off himself. He's alive and hiding.

I hope it's one of those jumpy idiot hunters that ends up shooting him thinking he's a funny-looking deer.

Eh, depends. He's got over a month before it's starts getting cold in the Smokey Mountains. It's still in the 80s (low in the 60s) right now in the Smokeys

We’re getting a cold front coming through starting Saturday. It’s supposed to be below freezing a few nights even at the lower elevations.
That said, this guy is a very experienced backpacker and if he’s here, he likely has the gear necessary for cold weather camping. If he’s collecting food, with the right gear he could survive the winter easily.

There were some questions the other day about the "time of death" etc. This article was mainly proving that Brian Laundrie sent the "no service in yosemite" text, but it had good info on the timeline of their final whereabouts on 8/27.

According to a witness, Petito was last seen on Aug 27 at a Tex-Mex restaurant in Wyoming at around 1 p.m. or so. Later on that evening, the Bethune family was driving by the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping area and spotted the white van which belonged to Petito around 6:30 p.m.
