I know USC is a destination job, but Fickell has something going really nice at Cincinnati, plus the Bearcats are set to join the Big 12 and P5 soon, i will be curious to see if Cincinnati counters with a pay raise for him and he stays at Cincinnati. USC is tough to turn down though.

I'm not sure USC is a destination job right now. Money is all they have to offer. Quality of life is an issue. Would you want to raise a family in Southern California? That state is having an exodus of people because the quality of life is not as good. Big Time recruits are heading East to land at places that care more about football that life itself.

USC might be your last job so get paid well with a huge buyout so you won't have to worry about coaching again if it destroys your career.

bro, when you make millions upon millions...there is not a much better place to raise your kids. Its beautiful, great weather and if you have that kind of money, you will live around nothing but upperclass/wealthy good people.

dont look at everything through the lense of politics.

if you are asking if I would want to raise my family in southern cali? for a 3 million dollar a year pay raise and making 6-8 million a year....I would take that over raising them in cincy ohio any day. Better schools, better weather, more oppurtunities pretty much no matter the industry.

in the NIL era, USC should absolutely murder almost everyone with that in their back pocket.

SHOULD.

If you're making USC head coach money, the quality of life in Southern California is pretty damn fantastic.

And the opportunities for your children are unparalleled. They'll attend Harvard Westlake and have ridiculous social capital and professional opportunities for the rest of their lives.

You slack-jawed yokels need to understand that Brentwood is one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the country. You also have Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, the Hollywood Hills, and beautiful weather. The idea that Brentwood, Santa Monica, and Beverly Hills are some woke disaster area is not true. The wealthy parts of Southern California offer a quality of life that is hard to match anywhere in the country.

You have to realize living on land in back of your daddy's house is not the quality of life most people want.

They are leaving because the conference has been bad the last decade. They weren't leaving when USC was the best team in the country.

Recruiting at USC is probably easier than anywhere else in the country IMO. You have competition sure from UCLA/Stanford in state and Oregon/Arizona St. on the west coast, but every other major power in the country is 1000 miles away. Every other top state for players has tons of competition in the state or regionally (Texas with A&M/OU/LSU UGA with everyone around them and Florida has UF, Miami, FSU and all the regional schools)

I think USC may be my #1 overall school if you gave me a pick of every school in the country.

One of the best states for talent and less competition within 500 miles
NIL could be huge with all the celebrities and opportunities
Expectations are high, but not as high as Bama/OSU it seems

The middle class are fleeing California. Not people making $5-10 million per year.

There’s arguably no better place to live in the country if you’re making that type of income.
