Can someone explain why we struggle to get the play call in?

I see our QBs calling out the play with 5-8 seconds left on the play clock and they have little to no time do look at the defense and where the pressure will come from.

What the hell is the hang up?

Peetz has never called plays before. Takes him forever to read a defense and make a decision, and he apparently has no natural feel or rhythm for the game. Should bode well when he faces actual elite defenses who constantly disguise their fronts.

Someone who's never called plays before calling plays.

fricking how do you have to call a timeout coming out in the 2nd quarter on the 2ns play. I don’t understand how you’re not ready

This is McNese, not Georgia or Bama

Einsminger should still be OC

Thats the problem. Brady made the D react to him.

He can't when he is reacting to the D.

Reminds me of the Crowton years. Slow to get in and then hurry up to beat the clock.

Jake Peetz is asking himself what would Joe Brady do, before each call, and that takes away previous seconds.

I thought the same thing. The QB is almost never looking at the defense. Every time the defense moves he has to look to the sideline. A good DC will tear them to shreds by always moving the defenders.

At one point the cameras zoomed in on him and he looked just plain awful. Rode hard and put up wet.

Doing a lot of check with me, maybe peetz or Johnson, isn’t quite sure of what to call looks at defensive alignment and they make adjustments. Nevertheless, too damn slow.

Because they are not only calling the plays they are then looking at the defense and telling Max EXACTLY what receiver to throw to. There is no reading the defense post snap. It’s here’s your number one read and if that is covered here’s your number two. Hand holding at its finest.

By telling Johnson where to throw without post snap read, you are setting them up for failure.

It's absolutely miserable to watch this. LSU's offense will be totally exploited like UCLA did to us, once we start playing real teams again.

LSU hired, Peetz, a rookie to call plays and newbie to being an OC! He doesn’t have anyone behind him (like Brady did with Coach E) who knows a lot about play calling.

In other words, we’re screwed! For $$$$$$, LSU has a guy as OC who has no clue what to do or how to do it. This was only his 2nd game calling plays! We have an amateur coach who is learning as we go “without” a teacher like Coach E. Oh….but he “knew” Joe Brady.

Glad to see the DEFENSE look better!

Who thought Peetz was a good choice again?

when we do hurry up look at me it is for the coaches to see if we need to counter what the D is doing based on what they show. we did it with brady and burrow.

if u mean basic plays being slow it has happened with many teams before. last second changes, player confusion, etc
