What the heck is going on? The mayor was recently reelected in a landslide. Do the residents just not care? I did two deployments to the Middle East, Jxn is much more dangerous than either of my deployments.

Same shite as NOLA and BR

The majority of residents have the IQ of a rock and are happy as long as they get a check and food stamps

And there are just enough white guilt progfilth to go along with them

Why do we blame the mayor for murders?
95% of the 103 murderers have no idea who the Jackson mayor is, nor cares.

The problem is the media and the wanton degeneration of family values by them and the entertainment industry.

like the head coach. buck stops there.

i'd be willing to bet that this mayor included reducing crime in their campaign platform.

Can't find the current numbers, but back on Aug. 9th BR had 99, got to imagine BR is hovering around 115 by today.

Yes, people are murdering each other because they have gay couples and drag queens in commercials.

There are significant increases in urban violent crime across the country really. Not exclusive to NOLA, BR, or Jackson.

Combination of police that are antagonized and penalized if they do anything but the bare minimum, and activist DA’s and judges whose campaigns were funded and bankrolled by radical progressives from NY, Washington, Hollywood, or even overseas interests.

Because people just don't care. I believe less than 25,000 voted in the mayoral election.

Jxn has a population of 154k and BR has a population of 230k. With LSU, refineries and tons of other businesses, I'd expect BR to be in much better shape than Jxn. Jxn literally has nothing, it's a third world city, there is one uber wealthy enclave (the Eastover area), once those few leave, there will be nothing.

I am going to say the voter turnout in Jackson, Mississippi is.. When you are in office you can do a lot of favors. People who get those favors don't give a frick about murders, they will vote and campaign for the person they know will take care of them.

Same in Memphis. The issue with Jackson, to me, is there aren't as many areas to get away from the crime as there are in Memphis, and from what I remember Baton Rouge and to a lesser extent New Orleans. That being said, new highways and interstates have the crime spilling from Memphis into places like Collierville and Germantown a lot more now
