Tyson Adds Time-Off Benefits for Vaccinated and New-Hire Employees
Tyson Foods announced it would strengthen the benefits it offers its fully vaccinated U.S. frontline team members. Effective January 1, 2022, fully vaccinated team members can begin earning up to 20 hours of paid sick leave per year. New hires will also receive one week of vacation after six months of employment.

I call this bribery, and another huge Biden admin failure!

Private company can do whatever they want. Don't care.

"20 hours of paid sick leave per year"

Guess because being fully vaccinated means you'll need the extra sick time...

Doesn't mean they don't deserve feedback or maybe some bad publicity.

Call it what you want but I was in a local independent grocery store the other afternoon and probably 90% of their chicken section was empty. They need workers to increase production.

Of course, they are always needing workers, but only giving the vacation to those vaccinated. That cuts down their pool of prospective employees. Real smart....

I’m going to offer an extra week of vacation to women who will get married.

Well Biden thinks Nevada has wetlands, he’s not a very smart man.

I call this an implicit admission that the "vaccine" doesn't work and is in fact counterproductive.

If you are fully vaccinated, you shouldn't need extra sick leave.

I would submit that it increases the pool. If by having a vaccine people that were not interested in working in a chicken plant might consider it now with some added benefits. Could create some descension within the current unvaxxed workforce but I suppose they would have a Plan B if that were to happen.

Considering the typical people working at a chicken plant in places like Arkansas and Mississippi, those are some of the least likely people to be fully vaccinated.

Yes - many are Hispanic and there is apparently a lot of hesitancy to be vaccinated in that group.

They are trying to bribe them. My friends brother works for them and a lot of people walked off the job last week because of the vaccine mandate. They have trucks sitting all over at the main facility and not many working in processing. It has caused a big mess for Tyson. Employees are standing up against it.

Will they blame George Costanza for this decision then back away from it?

Sounds like they're trying to boost manning before their Nov 1 deadline to have 100% vaccinated employees.
Unvaxxed gonna get their walking papers in November.
Tyson's Nov 1 deadline

Yeah good luck with that.

Chicken plucker is a hard job to fill already because it is shitty thankless work. You think someone's going to permanently jeopardize their health to keep THAT job?

2 1/2 work days if you work 8 hour shifts.

How generous of them

Yeah, I agree. I work for a company that makes their packaging, have heard stories about the packing industry from our sales and tech crew for years. High turnover.. shite job with low pay.
Seems like an odd flex for Tyson. But if the shitbags at corporate stick with the deadline, those other guys are gone.

My worry is that the shitbags I work for will get ideas... Corporate is itching to mandate but we're already shorthanded from shortsighted decisions they've made since 2008.
If business drops because of Tyson, those douchebags might see it as an opportunity to mandate and cut some of us.
