Like most places it has its pros and it’s cons. If you’re single in your mid 20’s it sucks ill give you that, but it’s a perfectly fine place to grow up/raise kids.

I think BR gets more hate on here than it deserves but there are a lot nicer places to live with comparable cost of living but with better schools, job markets, infrastructure, lower crime, etc.

Can you please name a lot nicer places?

Addis and Brusly don’t count.

Baton rouge outside of LSU and a few high end areas is a shite hole.

Compared to Mogadishu?

But the gap between the two is narrowing.

My weekend trip to LA taught me Louisiana ain't that bad. The city itself was the filthiest place I have ever seen. Looks like proper trash disposal is illegal. Add in the cartoonish people and 98 degree heat, it's WAY overpriced.

I was just in Los Angeles and they served my burger with kale instead of lettuce and couldn’t find a regular bar with regular beer to save my life. Pass.

Most other places in the south you’re surrounded by people who don’t like LSU and the type of religious folk who hate fun. Pass.

Where else is there? The Midwest? Bland food and ugly women. Pass.

Northeast? And you think the LSU admin is woke? Pass.

Have you lived elsewhere?

It is the worst place out of the 6 places I have legitimately lived, by a huge margin.

For around ~30% of the populace, it’s at least immoral to not litter.

They are generally the same contingent who keep the other 70% of us from having nice things.

Unfortunately the bad folks are becoming a larger percentage of the overall population as time goes by.

I lolled at your comment, btw.

To hear most of you type, you make it sounds like a smaller version of Chicago.

It seems to me these areas are lacking a certain demographic.

Plenty of places brotha.

Not saying it’s the end all be all but it’s not bad, like the title says.

Did you have a blindfold on? LA isnt my favorite city in the world, but you can basically fall into regular bars left and right and order a 'regular' beer

Nah it was all places serving pretentious cocktails with like 1 beer on draft and some joker in the next bar stool trying to hustle me.

It sucks. There are better places to live in south LA. Baton Rouge is devoid of history and culture. Outside of LSU and a few nice areas it’s Jackson Mississippi. BR has an identity problem.
