Are there plans to put money into redoing the cart paths and bunkers?

What’s the story with how out of shape it currently is? Besides the hurricane.

Rich part-owner died. Two floods. Too far away from most things for the BR crowd. Not enough to do locally for those out of state.

It’s on life support and there’s a huge pair of scissors just itching to cut the line.

I heard yesterday from a reliable source that it was bought by Chinese investors with deep pockets.

How much in the red are they yearly? I wonder how big of a revenue gap there currently is if they put the money it needs into it on a yearly basis.

Not sure on their losses but I know they need $4MM to fix their current issues (cart paths, irrigation, and erosion abatement). There’s a long but good video of Harold Leone (original owner/developer) speaking to the POA a few months back asking for money to start a resort a la The Grand in Point Clear. Obviously the decision was in Dodson’s hands (current owner) and another person has now told me about the Chinese investors. Hope nothing but good things come from it as a West Felicianian, golfer, and former member.

I could see a resort like that working. But you'd have to clear out a ton of land to make that work, and a lot of that land is the golf course or houses.

That was his original dream. “The next Augusta” “Big fish flying in to play and join”

It’s a pipe dream!! Why on earth would anyone go to a resort in Jackson Louisiana? Heat? Mosquitos? Lovely nearby village and townsfolk? Sightseeing? Mountains? Lake? Beach?

Im sorry, The Bluffs isn't a great layout outside of LA. I think the design actually missed on being much better.

Thank you! People have such a boner down here for the “layout” cause they get to hit a couple of downhill tee shots. It’s so overrated. Even If it was in prime shape, it would not be as good of a “layout” as several others in South Lousiana and the MS gulf coast. Period.

It’s not 18 immaculately laid out holes. But where in Louisiana does that even exist? Squire? CCL?

The front 9 is kinda meh but I love that tee shot on the first hole. Also 9 is a lot of fun with the options.

For me, that stretch from 10-13 is so much fun. Then 17 and 18 make the back 9 special.

All things considered, when that course is in prime shape, it’s a lot of fun to play. And I will be sad if it goes away.

Back when that course was in its prime, it was hard as hell! Slope rating was 150 if I’m not mistaking. The greens were like putting in the hood of your truck!

I somewhat agree with this, in Missouri it would be akin to a top 20 course in the state if in good shape. But I will say when I lived down there I really enjoyed the course. 1 tee shot is phenomenal and one of the toughest I’ve faced. I love hole 9, one of my favorite par 5’s I’ve played. And 17 and 18 are good holes but the rest of the course isn’t that special
