It’s really simple at this point. The divide is just too wide to close at this point.
A simple analogy is a married couple with children. They both want the their children to have the best health possible. They may differ in the approach but because the overall goal is the same. The goal doesn’t outweighs the differences.
The problem in America is the goal is not the same at this point. Fundamentally we are just too divided and the overall goal of the “American dream” is just pipe dream for some. It’s basic good vs evil. At some point we will all have to pick a side.
